Great friendly helpful staff everything was good except the cold water didn't work in one the showers. Also the train station was super close and was loud sometimes but thats life! Great stay overall! :) due to security issues we were unable to use our Canadian credit card on their site! They need to upgrade their secirity on their Walrus site and app for booking attractions!

Staff was awesome and so was the breakfast and the rest of the facilities. The only problem was the cleanliness of the bathrooms, they were disgusting. The showers were always plugged and overflowing and they were very dirty.

Was a great place to stay for a few nights in London, location is unbelievable, drinks at the bar are so cheap compared to other places on London and also close to some interesting areas. Will definitely be staying here again in the future. Big thanks to the lovely lady to checked me in, great service and friendly smiles from you when ever I saw you

Great central location. Not as noisy as we expected even our room was next to the train line. The bed was unfortunately very squeaky and noisy. Breakfast was good and great as it is included in the price.

Staff was amazing! Super friendly and helpful! They were wonderful! Great location, other than the fact that it was right next to a busy train station so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper! Some showers were very small and no room to put clothes or towel, but had hot water! Rooms were quite tiny, and small lockers in rooms, but they did have a luggage room for bigger bags, we went to Dublin for 3 days and they let us keep our bags in there til we came back!

The staff were brilliant and as I am a little older the bar was an ideal place to meet people. Also you receive 15% off the bar prices with your hostel stay. Lower marsh road is ideal as well as it has a good spread of culture

A good place to stay while you're visiting London. Really near the touristic area but also near the underground so you can go everywhere from there ! The staff was really nice and helpfull and the mood is perfect to chill out.

The staff was so friendly, and helpful. I left my keys at the hostel and was able to get them to send it right away back to the U.S. I was really worrying about the situation but they helped me relax and realize they'd be able to get them right back to me, so I greatly appreciate that! Also, they were able to help clean up the facilities very frequently when my roommate was sick, so they are on top of making sure it's a comfortable stay.

This hostel exists above a bar. It's a little cosy and the lockers in our room were a little difficult to access as they were above and around the doorway. The bar is open to the public but is mostly composed of hostel-goers. It's right next to the train tracks and can be a little noisy at night without earplugs. The bathroom floors are a little wet at times but are usable. Overall a pretty sweet location to your typical sightseeing locations and right next to a subway entrance.

Overall I think this place is good value for money. Good general professionalism and cleanliness, new bathrooms, and near the centre of london! Great. But two of the lockers in my four bed dorm were broken. The place has a general feeling of being old. It is *very* close the the train line so: choose between fresh air with loud train noise, or quiet and stuffiness. Breakfast and desk only starts at 8am. So earlier it might be annoying to get your deposit on your lock.

The toilet/showers were disgusting. Otherwise, like any low budget hostel, just fine.

Very close to Big Ben. In a random area but the staff was great so it made up for that. Women's bathroom could use some updating. I really liked the atmosphere in the common space/bar area. The 22 person room was fine for 2 nights but it's difficult to sleep in because of people snoring and coming in at all hours of the night

I was in a 10 person mixed dorm. Five of the other guests were Korean girls who let things dry on the bed ends. Since the room only had two small windows which did not open very well, it was very humid and took three days for a damp coat to dry. There was black mold on the upper walls and ceiling. I was informed by the manager, Alex, that the room was going to be renovated, and one of the bunks was going to be removed. Good news for the next guests. The staff was excellent and very helpful.

Great hostel if you're traveling and like meeting new people or mingling. If you're looking for peace and quiet or a secluded spot to rest, this is not the hostel for you. The staff were amazing, but the bathroom situation is tricky and it can take awhile to get up and out in the morning when the showers are busy. It's also very noisy because of the trains but the people and location are unbeatable!

The Walrus was great! The staff made it for me, honestly. They were (are) PHENOMENAL. Especially Alex and Michael, who are (I think) the morning guys? Anyways--super helpful, very kind and gracious. Primo staff. Good amenities--free breakfast, which was awesome. Great security. I stayed in the 22 bed room, which was a good--just noisy. Not a fault of the hostel. There are trains that run nearby so it can be noisy but bring ear plugs and you're fine. Cons--no power or light at each bed :(

The staff were really helpful, and the hostel is in a great location in terms of proximity to London attraction, but it's next to the main railway lines going to/from Waterloo station so it's pretty noisy. I was a bit disappointed with the kitchen as a lot of plates, cups, bowls and other cooking equipment weren't properly clean, but that's not necessarily the hostel's fault but more so the people who have stayed there. Some of the showers could to with a bit of maintenance work too.

FULL REVIEW : STAFF: The staff were really nice, helpful and nice. FACILITIES: Wi-Fi, close to some major London attractions, breakfast(included, good) LOCATION: 5 min. walk to the London eye and BigBen, felt safe as a solo traveller (girl) ROM: okay and social, but not the best, it can be noisy by night because of the train, but I had no trouble falling asleep CLEANING: Not that good, I saw the staff only swiping some of the rom, easy, not really cleaning, bathrooms little low stand.
