The best hostel I've ever stayed in. Like a nice hotel minus the private room factor. Great decor and facilities. Top staff too.

Our stay was great, but there were issues with the key cards being deactivated. It was a bit annoying.

Very new and clean, staff went out of their way to be friendly, food was good. BUT - Dorm room very cramped for 8 beds and VERY silly idea to remove power points from the rooms - is that a new regulation in the UK?? I couldn't even fit my mobile phone and foreign charger into the small lockers they provided with power points in them - and having all phones near the door is just not practical - people use them for alarms and will be using wifi while in bed - this system will annoy everyone.

The Westend Hostel was closer to a hotel than a hostel. The staff (Jamie and Peter) were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The food in the restaurant was excellent, the facility was very modern and well maintained. There is live music on the weekends and locals gather to socialize. I would make a return visit if ever in Edinburgh and have already recommended the Westend to several travelers, and I just checked out this morning!

Impeccable rooms, super clean , great facilities. Great if you want a quiet bed for the weekend. Not ideal for backpackers!

location is not the best but it is very clean and the facilities and quite good. I stayed just one night and it was almost empty.

Great location! Nice and clean rooms and bathrooms! Good bar area. We did not have breakfast but looked like there was plenty to choose from. Would definately stay here again!

Food excellent Plentiful brekky. Very helpful staff. Quiet location. Room warm but quite small. Beds perfectly adequate but not for tall people.

WOW! What a deal this place is! Clean facilities, friendly staff - you name it, it has it! It even has soap for use in the shower itself, in case you don't want to waste away your own shampoo bottle. I cannot say enough good things about this place!

Great shower!!! Extreme shortage of power points in rooms!! Make sure to bring extension cable as power points are only located near door of the room. No luggage lockers! Only small lockers for mobile and wallet in room and only limited lockers laptop sized in communal areas available. Comfy beds... this is if you like soft, very soft mattresses like I do.

Little bit out of the center but a safe and clean hostel. Good value for money. They close the bar before midnight which is not that good. Besides that everything was ok. Thanks to April, Seteven and Colin for the warm hospitality.

There is a nice kitchen and a bar in the hostel. It's a clean and a comfortable hostel to stay at. It's not right in the center but not very far away. It's just about 15-20 min walk to the center. The staff were very friendly especially April and Jamie. Just the thing is they shut the common areas at 11 pm so if you wanna stay up late, you have just one option which is a couch in the entrance.

Very nice hostel looks like hotel from outside. They serve breakfast but a little pricey for what you get.

Great hostel! Great staff and great facilities. A little far from the old town, but it was ok to go on foot.

I couldn't have asked for a better hostel! The staff members were very accommodating and the building was very clean. The beds were comfortable, clean, and warm.
