This hostel is one of the best! Staff is helpful, the general atmosphere is much cozy than many others, there is a nice bar, beds are comfortable etc. Location isn't directly in the city center but its not too far neither, just a short nice walk.

We stayed 2 nights in a 10 bed ensuite mixed dorm. It was pretty cool. The staff was awesome and the bar, which is actually the reception, was quite nice as well. Also, guests can get 20% discount on the bar. It is more like a hotel rather than a hostel. Bathroom and toilets are amazingly clean and new. Location was good as well since it took us 10 mins to walk downtown. We really enjoyed our stay there, thanks very much Westend Hostel :)

A lot of noise. I could not sleep in all night. The people from the other room made a party and there was no staff in the hotel in all night.

Fantastic hotel, close to town, great staff, really felt welcome. Hotel is clean and tidy, 4 people private ensuite rooms are ideal for a small group of people. Will go again

there is no electric plug-in in the room so no one can charge their phones or couldn't even go on-line even though they have free wifi. basically you have to go to basement which is very small right next to kitchen so it smells when people cook there. i really don't like their common area. it's so small without sofa sitting down. plus, the breakfast costs two pound and you can't sit in the first floor area except you have to buy meals(spend more) to sit down. But it's clean.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the bar on the ground floor was a great place to hang out when we didn't want to be in our room. Though it is a little out of the way of the city center, the location is quiet and nice, and is still just a walk away from the city center (not so far that we needed transportation). The room was extremely musty, but that did not bother any of my friends without allergies.

First off, I fell in Love with the staff! When I arrived, my bed needed clean sheets (which was fine, we're all human). A young man got it taken care of faster than I could blink and gave me a free complimentary continental breakfast for the mix-up! There is the nicest little bar right on the first floor and none of the bartenders failed to impress with their hospitality or drinks! I loved the room keys, however, it was a little of a hassle having to use it for the bathroom. PERFECT, I LOVED IT!

The only problem was the key to the room that didn't work. Other than that, it was a great hostel, and everyone was so friendly and helpful!

Very close to the city centre, easy to find near the cathedral, very friendly staff, a bar with cheap beers and food, very clean. Just one negative point : only 1 toilet for 24 people for the 1st floor... otherwise its perfect :) I recommend !!

The dorm rooms were lovely, or at least the 18 bed room I was in - spacious, clean and bedding was nice. The bathroom across the hall was a bit of a downer, it reeked of mold you could see some of it. At night the lighting was really dim so I didn't even feel like showering. I was lucky enough to have live Scottish live music, that was a really fun experience. Thank you!
