We really ejoyed Porto, but had some bad luck with the bunk bed. As soon as one person moved the whole thing started to squeak as if it would break down. Cost me a lot of sleep... :-/ But since it was one of these typical Hostel- bunk beds, in which I normally sleep well, I guess we only had bad luck as we chose the bed. Otherwise the value for money ratio is really great.

The hostel made a mistake by double booking our private room, meaning when we arrived late at night there was no private ready for us. In the end, however, I was impressed with how they handled the situation-- first they apologized and admitted their mistake, second they offered us a shared room that was available but gave it only to us so it was essentially private. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Just a cool place. Really suits what I thought Oporto was all about. The back garden is super cool to take a photo of and I could just sit out there for hours eating, drinking, letting time pass by. Absolutely head their for a relaxing time.

Best hostel in West Europe for me. The rooms are HUGE with a ceiling so high like i've never seen. The common area, just like home: nice living room with comfi seeting around tv and kitchen with one big table, made it excellent to meet people. So lone traveler will be naturally included in the others interaction. The skinny mattress and the bad layout of the bathroom are the only downside but can easily be forgiven.

I really enjoyed staying at this hostel. It was 20 minutes walking from the bus station. The room it was very good and had a ensuite bathroom for only 8 people and also a lcd tv. I would recomend this hostel!

I loved Yellow House! The staff were all very very friendly - more than willing to talk about Porto and their favorite places to go and things to do. Every night there would be groups of people in the kitchen coking together and talking about what they'd done that day. It was easy to meet people in the common area, and I had a lot of impromptu card games and movie screenings that grew out of just sitting down there and then starting to chat.
