I loved Yellow House! The staff were all very very friendly - more than willing to talk about Porto and their favorite places to go and things to do. Every night there would be groups of people in the kitchen coking together and talking about what they'd done that day. It was easy to meet people in the common area, and I had a lot of impromptu card games and movie screenings that grew out of just sitting down there and then starting to chat.

The guy was very nice with us. Just two things I didn't like.... I stayed at the undergroud room... it was really noise and a bit dirty.

It was hard to find the hostel because the color is closer to beige. The location was decent, near the train station, but not completely in the center. The staff was very friendly and funny. Security into the building was fine, a code, but I would have preferred if the doors to the shared rooms locked, although we did have lockers. The hostel is equipped with a tv room, 2 small computers, and a full kitchen.

The private rooms are bad. The room we first got, didn't had a window so there was no fresh air in the room. There also were no lockers to save some stuff. The second room we got was better, there was a window, but it was located near the stairs so there was a lot of noise. In the bathroom one shower was broken. It was impossible to undress yourself private, (no curtain/door to hide yourself behind). You could close the bathroom, but than it was impossible for others to use the toilet.

quite good location for this price. The first impression not so good, it smelled a little wierd and there were flies in the room. There could be more bathrooms (only 1 with 1 toilet, 2 showers and 2 washbasins for girls). And tea and coffee are for free only during breakfast. Kitchen is nice, you can find everything you need but sometimes it's a little too crowded during breakfast and there's no place to seat. A garden was nice. Beds were warm, clean and comfortable. My personal opinion 7/10.

The staff was amazing and very helpful. Elia was so informative and willing to help with anything. I really did feel at home there. They had a nice chill out space and two laptops for free use. I would absolutely stay there again.

The hostel was one of the cleanest I have ever stayed at. The breakfast actually gave options and they had enough utensils and dishes for everyone. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were hot. The staff was very sweet and instantly gave you places to go to. There's also a map in the hallway with the top 10 things to do in Porto. The location was great, 5 minute walk from the center and maybe 20 from the river. Overall a wonderful stay!
