Like our neighbours said, the check-in may be quite frustrating, but the rest is just perfect: homey atmosphere, no curfew, nice interior and a helpful owner and staff. Thumbs up!!

There are absolutely no complains about the Aquarium Hostel. We definitely enjoyed our stay there. It's like having an own flat. A few rooms, a nice kitchen, two bathrooms, no receptions, internet etc. - but for people who travel in small groups and especially for couples it is a perfect location. The price is top as well as the hostel manager ;-) Enjoy your stay.

Clean hostel near train station. Don't expect anyone to meet you, you have to call the guy when you arrive and he gives you the code for the door. Good kitchen. No internet

they had a problem with hot-water and they transfered us to another hostel. they told us with time, and we had our booking with the same price at another hostel. very kind. the problem was the security of that hostel: museum guest house

The aquarium hostel felt like having your own apartment. brand new and decorated in bright colors, it was the perfect place to stay. three nice bathrooms, a huge kitchen and common place, and large bedrooms made the stay wonderful. there is no 24 hour reception, so it feels like your own. i HIGHLY recommend it! Only a short walk to any site...it was the best part of Budapest.

Watch out for the bloke at the train station, trying to flog hostel accomadation. He will say that this one has closed for 3 years. It hasnt. Nice little place with everything you need and pretty new aswell. We had free run of the place and no one to tell us what to do. It was brilliant.

There needs to be a sign telling you exactly which dark floor the hostel is on. It looks really scary at night with grafitti everywhere and no lighting. You need to take an elevator up. The guy was extremely nice, but the hostel was grimy. IThey simply need new mattresses. I couldn't sleep all night because the mattress was so gross. The shower was moldy. Just a little bleach and the towels would be ok. It would be so easy to make this place look cleaner.

Great location -close to main railway station and not far from the city's centre. There is a 24-hour groccery shop in the same building -which is a plus- the hostel was recently renovated and the facilities function perfectly and are great. There is a good kitchen for guest's use. The hostel is in a residential building which is very nice and ancient -more than 100 years old. Definitely would come back and reccommend it!

when i was there, the hostel was still being built. the showers did not all work, the rooms were spartan. when i came back at 4am, teh lock of my door broke when i tried to open it and there was no staff to help me. so i couldn t get into the room, the next night the bed broke too. the staff consists of one young guy, who was quite nice.   Read Owner Comments
