Great location, but more of a hotel than a hostel so quite expensive, but a safe and clean place to stay in NY.

First two nights I stayed in a ten room dorm which had one shared bathroom that was leaking sewerage and was not cleaned and was truly disgusting. After two nights I was able to move to a six bed dorm with a functional bathroom that was mucvh better. A cool hostel to stay in but very dependent on the room you get.

The overall feel of the hostel had a strong bohemian feel, with modern art scattered on the main floor as well as each floor of the rooms. Staff seemed friendly and it was easy to check in and out of the hostel. Location was great, not too far from a metro stop. Beds were slightly uncomfortable, though, and the bathroom I received was not the most well-kept looking thing, but overall worth the trip.

Groovy looking place in a great location but staff were pretty unhelpful and even rude at times. Far from welcoming or informative and really let the place down. Also the dorms are way too crowded and ridiculous for 10 people to share the one bathroom!

excellent location which is probably the best thing about this place. minimal service from front desk staff with no real introduction to the hostel's facilities. did not appear to have a laundry or communal kitchen. woke to find mice in the 10 bed dorm incl one crawling on my bed (and me), was shifted to a smaller dorm with no further mice seen but not particularly pleasant!
