Confusing check in, no real kitchen facilities, no window in room, bathroom wasn't cleaned in the three days we stayed there. Bins in kitchen were emptied once and were already full when we got there. Rubbish under the beds, unclean fridge. No cockroaches though which is a plus considering how many we saw running around in he streets in Newcastle. And comfortable beds which is always good. And had a couple of movies you could watch.

One of the best hostels I stayed in Newcastle. The Canadians running the place were top class. Need a beer pong table and a ball to make it 5 stars though. Skål!

Dear Stefanie We are very disappointed to hear that you had a very unpleasant stay with us, we currently have new staff members who are still undergoing training and learning check-in procedures but i hope for the future you please bring this to the attention of management. We do have staff employed to regularly clean the premises and we are launching an investigation and doing routine checks to ensure our premises is clean and welcome for future. Kind regards Management

We had a confirmed booking and when we arrived no one opened us. We gave them a call and knocked on the door but nobody seemed to notice us. After half an hour calling them, yelling and knocking on the door we went to the yha and they took us for the night, even they were actually fully booked.so in the end we cant say if its a nice place to stay, but if you want to stay for a night in newcastle you should maybe better get a different hostel.

Bloody fantastic, the lads slotted me into a room with a hot swedish girl. Could not have asked for anything more. Best shower heads in the world too!

This hostel is attached to a bar called The Crown & Anchor which holds a late night on a Friday and Saturday night until 3 am. The bedrooms are directly above the nightclub room and the music shakes the beds and was impossible to sleep until the music had eventually stopped. The bar manager seemed quite unapologetic when we asked them to turn the music down as we needed to leave at 6.30am the next morning. All in all a terrible stay and definitely would avoid at weekends if you want to sleep!

Not too many options in the city. Worst night ever since i have been travelling. Music downstairs was sooo LOUD that cant believe police did not come and shut down the place. But the point is: why would you ever ever again stop by here in This city?? Next!

Room for 4 people was double booked- didn't get one. Gave us mattresses ( inflatable) for 2 people, 1 deflated overnight. Fortunately friends had floor space for us to sleep on.DEMAND OUR DEPOSIT TO BE REFUNDED AS THERE WAS NO BED FOR US - we were 6 hours from home. Appalling.
