Room was next to a door that lead to laundry and annex, kept slamming all night. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting! Urine all over the toilet seats. Asked staff about airport transfer, was informed it was cheaper and easier to catch public transport or use shuttle, although it is on their website. Staff we're friendly enough. Wouldn't stay here again as very unclean rooms and bathrooms.
A bit disappointed by the state of the kitchen, which was very untidy, and the fact there were no dishes or cutlery for use by guests.
Clean, modern hostel in a central location to explore christchurch. Friendly staff.
Bed was so noisy none of the 4 people got any sleep!

Very nice and pretty good organized! Bathrooms and dorms were very clean, the kitchen was more or less a mess due to people staying there..
Wasn't impressed with this place. The only two good things about it were the location and the free wifi but even that was impossible to use at times. You have to pay a deposit for your pots
Space is small. Nasty toilet Staffs are kind
Nice newly refurbished hotel. Good size twin rooms. Central location.
Friendly staff. Excellent location if you're interested in seeing the post-quake city or museum. Bit of a walk to find a budget friendly place to eat though.
Excellent little hostel, location was good, just a short walk to the centre
The staff are exceptionally helpful and under a lot of pressure as they have recently re opened. I would have prefered a female only dorm as having a very restless youngster on the top bunk I had little sleep! The kitchen is completely inadequate for the number of people staying at the hostel. The location is the best but next stay will be in a cheaper but better (for me) hostel
A really nice, quiet hostel (not hotel). A nice communal area with TV and a few choices of DVDs. The staff are pretty friendly and helpful too. Slightly overpriced for a hostel, but saying that there aren't many in the area so they can get away with it.
Nice hostel, good location, friendly staff & a small dog roams the lounge and lobby and a cat guards the front door. Big minus for the internet being down for three days - it's a lifeline for travellers..
Everything is new and clean and beautiful. I had a very comfortable stay in a mixed dorm room. One thing that might be nice to add at some point is a shelf or pocket for the top bunks so that we have a place to store a book, alarm, etc.
They are still in the process of restoring the building, so there may be occasional problems with the facilities, but these problems seem to get fixed soon after they arise.
room was overbooked, staff was unhelpful and rude (the lady in the evening didn't know anything about the shuttle to the train station and the guy the next morning told me that it was my fault I hadn't booked the shuttle the night before and to 'shut up', he didn't even give a refund or anything to the girl that didn't get a bed in my room and had to sleep outside in a different dorm)
Just reopened with brand new facilities, very clean and functional (sockets behind each bed)
