Located in an alley, the place is 'so' peaceful and quiet. The family who owns the place were all pleasant.

Nice place down a quiet alley. Smallish double room with fantastic air conditioning. The owner was very friendly and always willing to help with finding commission free tickets and tours. To top it off the lady across the street sells the best ice coffee in HCMC. Try it.

The hotel has a great location in an alley full of everyday life (people sleeping, cooking, chatting when you walk by) but still in the middle of the tourist area. The hotel is nice and clean but is not more than a hotel; not good for meeting people so if that's what you're looking for... The girl in the reception when I arrived was really enthusiastic and ready to help but later I only encountered mama and she was a bit stiff.

We booked 3 nights but stayed for a week. The hotel is in a great location and the family who run it are lovely - very friendly and helpful. They live on site and make the hotel feel homely and secure. Rooms are very clean, towels and sheets changed regularly. The soft foam beds and pillows could be comfier and there was a bit of a mix up with laundry, but we had a great stay otherwise. I'll stay here again next time I'm in Sai Gon!

The hotel is down an alley, it is a nice place to sleep away from the loud main roads. It is split between two buildings, the second building's front door locks at night. They don’t tell you that the second key you get is for the front door. The front door key has to be turned completely around a couple of times before the lock will actually unlock. The security is very good, we were able to leave our luggage with the front desk both before we checked into our rooms and after we checked out.

The picture is different from real room. I booked the room with two beds, but actually the room has one double bed. TV is very small and there are a few channels. There is no aircon remote controller and I had to ask the remocon to the staff. There is no enough soup and only one towel was provided for 3 nights 4 days.

Nice, clean and quiet hotel in an alley off the noisy main street. Close promixity to the attractions. Owner is very helpful in giving tips round the city. Provides tour such as cu chi tunnels and the Mekong delta at a reasonable price. Thanks to the owner that I managed to purchase my train ticket to hue. Thanks a lot for the awesome stay! :)

Thuan Duc is run by a kind, hospitable family. It is helpful to let the owners know when you will be arriving. We arrived at 2AM on December 3, and someone was expecting us. We were given free bottled water and a decent map of the city. The owner takes time to explain the map, a few tourist sights only about 5-10 minutes walking distance from the hostel. She can also help arrange buses and tours to the Cu Chi Tunnels or Phnom Penh.

Like we read in other reviews a bit of an odd place as the family lived and slept on the ground floor. Although sometimes in PJ's, the staff was nice and helpfull. Don't do loundry here though, as it might end up diffrent from the way you hand it in... Room was very simple, but ok for the money.
