I stayed at the hostel with a friend for three nights in a two bed room. Staff was okay but not very friendly. I'm not sure whether they didn't speak English but they barely said more than was absolutely necessary. The room was fine but missed a garbage can. The kitchen was okay but missed bowls for cereal. Showers were relatively clean and had hot water. The hostel is located close to the city center and near a shopping center with a supermarket.

A good value but The Staffan is not very devoted to tell you about their city wich is a shame

Atmosphere: 1 point away because missed a common room to take a rest Cleanliness: 3 points away as all the bathrooms were moldy, Facilities: 3 points away as It had no chance to use the kitchen as was too small and all the guests were there to chat continously. (As it was small and it was no common room.) Even no A/C, beds are old. Positives: LOCATION it couldn't be better everything is walking distance, Recepcion girls are kind and helpful (be aware credit card accept over 20 euro only!).

Location is really good. Walking distance to everywhere. There were no lockers for individual in the room. You have to pay €5 for the safe. The staff when I checked in seemed new and didn't really know things like how to use the safe, where to go, good restaurants. But the place is very clean and bed is comfy. Nothing really complain about.

To be fair, this hostel is better than its reviews might make you think. The only thing missing is A/C and lockers in the room, but I guess you get what you pay for. The location couldn't be better with the old town just a few minutes away. And the staff are actually very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms weren't that clean though and I suggest they clean them more often / renovate them.

The kitchen lacks a stove or oven. The main bunk room had only one window for ventilation. The staff was the least friendly of the four hostels in which we stayed in Riga. The beds were comfortable.

Nice and quiet hostel on the edge of old town. Verry comfortable beds with clean sheets. Showers where nice and hot with a lot of pressure behind it. Due to the lack of a common room not the best place to meet other people, but if you want a quiet hostel just for sleeping this is what you are looking for. The kitchen was not verry big but well equipped, free coffee and tea. No lockers in the room, however there was a option to rent one, but these are big enough for your wallet and phone only
