The guy that runs this place was amazing. Helped us out with a lot of stuff and went out of his way. Got our taxi and ferry to Perhentain sorted for a good rate. Showers and toilet weren't that great. TV with DVD player and films. Good lockers. No aircon in room just fan. Wasn't a big fan of the area but if you do go I recommend this place just for helpfulness of Matt who I believe runs it.

Clean, great location and best staff ever. Also awesome value for money. I'd wish I've spent more time in that hostel/guesthouse.

Really cozy hostel, where you can watch movies. Mat the owner is really nice. Overall clean and confy.

Nice hostel, good location and Matt is the nicest guy ever and very helpful.

Lovely little guesthouse close to the bus station and the sights. Not far from places to eat and the food night market. Friendly welcoming staff who can help with any queries about the area. Lovely common area to relax in which I did because I had to wait for my night bus which was great. Also nice warm shower which was wonderful after cold showers on the Perhentian Islands!

Mat was really nice and offered to watch a lot of good movies. But personally I did not like the mattress and the heat of the room never escaped.

Nice hostel and very central. Friendly staff. Beds are a bit in a bad shape and therefore uncomfortable and no AC.

Good place, good value for money. Most important: the owner is very friendly and helpfull. Maybe good to know that iTS a typical backpackerplace.

Timur Guesthouse is a great place to stay in Kota Bahru, it has a great atmosphere, the beds are clean and comfortable. The staff is great and really helpful, they will make you feel really welcome and give you great advice about the city. In case you are just doing a layover for the Perhentians and just want to chill, it is also a great place to meet other backpackers and watch movies in a nice living room. They have a big variety of movies to watch.

For the area it seems to be a decent place to stay, nothing fancy. Helpful staff!

This guesthouse was in a good location and the owner Mat was so helpful giving advice about where to go.

I don't know why this hostel has such a low rating! We had an amazing stay. It was a perfect location in the town centre. The owner, Mat, was so friendly and helpful. We could help ourselves to free tea, coffee and movies at any time.
