The description of lonely planet describing it as the Top choice of Chongqing is completely out of date. This was one of the worse places I have been in China. I figured out that they had a change of owners a few months ago and I believe the hostel suffers from this. There are many other hostels in Chongqing, I am glad we changed to the Yangtze River Hostel, this one was almost perfect!

I arrived late at night and the location was difficult to find (down a dark alley), but a staff member came out to the main road to meet me. The security of the actual hostel itself seemed fine (though the walls were quite thin), but I would certainly not have felt safe walking around on my own late at night.

They mixed up our online reservation so we ended up with different rooms then we planned on--one of us in a dorm instead of a private. Hard to find, so make sure you have the phone number. Other than that it is your average hostel.
