Tinbilly is the first hostel in Brisbane named in the "lonely planet" guide. They seem to relax pretty much on that and don't really take care of the house. You see a lot of mold in the showers and dailly cleaning isn't really existing. But the people working their were very nice and the house's own pub is a good place to hang around.

Stinky, no impetus for residents to tidy up. Bathroom inside dorm of 13 people - one toilet shower etc for 13. Smells of mold. Staff overstressed and trying to be nice but hey. Summary - AWFUL (Condom on floor of corridor and homeless person sleeping in communal area) We checked out a day early and however were given a credit note for a nights stay Apparently other hostels just as bad though...

Great hostel. We only stayed there for one night; but that made the proximity to the Roma st. Transit Centre really convenient. It's honesty right across the street. Otherwise the hostel was very nice.

s Smelly and noisy are the 2 words I would use to describe my stay at Tinbilly Travellers. iThe anoucement system that comes into the rooms all the time is very annoyng. The dorm room and bathroom were so smelly and the windows do not open to air the room gross! Also the fact that you have to use the door card for the electric is a irritating as you have to keep swaping over if you leave the room. The location is it only positive as it is so close to the train station.

Clearly this is a great party hostel and has an excellent location but i thought the intercom announcements were a bit much particularly the repeated ones in the room! The toilet leaked all the week i was there and apparently had done for a number of weeks, disgusting and very little effort was made to clean it up despite repeated requests

I am guessing that all rooms did not have a window?? Which is pretty in-convenient when the air-conditioning system was broken! - it was like a sauna. Our door did not lock from the inside or out.. so thank goodness we didn't bring any valuables with us or had someone barge in our room whilst we were sleeping! The bathroom stunk and the fan did not work and the shower was like a bath as the drain didn't work very well.

All the staff we friendly, helpful and capable. The room cleanliness left something to desire for but that was more the fault of my room mates than the hostel. Great rates, and you can work at the hostel and stay for free if they need people.

More than adequate. The aircon broke down when I arrived, but the receptionist moved the dorm room guests all to another room without delay. Clean folded sheets and blankets on bunks. Shower and bathroom attached to dorm was well maintained. Kitchen was fairly clean, although the TV room was a bit dirty on the friday and saturday mornings I saw it
