The best way to reach Szeged is by train. You will probably to coming to Szeged from Budapest, so whether you arrived by airplane, bus or train you simply have to get on the blue metro line and get off at the Nyugati train station.

Fast trains leave almost every two hours (duration: about 3 hours) and Inter City trains (costs about 2 dollars extra, but you get shorter travel time and better travelling conditions - you must buy seating tickets to travel on the IC!) leave 4 times a day. A tram stops right in front of the train station in Szeged and will take you to the town centre.
