Check in really late.4.pm. and the check out is 11.00 am, so there is enough time to have the rooms ready earlier, because is a small hostel staff during the morning not much friendly

This hostel is great. I really enjoyed my stay. The old house and the garden are gorgeous. The staff is really nice. The metro station is 1 minute walk away from the hostel. You can use the kitchen, there is free internet and a bar (some people even come from outside the hostel). I recommend taking the breakfast for 300 y. It is a traditional Japanese breakfast and is quite filling. The only downside is that since it is a heritage house, the walls are paper thin. Bring earplugs.

Wow, what an amazing place! I cant call it a hostel as it is far better than that. Its an amazing 90 year old traditional building and is kept in great condition, very very clean, free shower and shampoo, they do breakfast for cheap, staff go above and beyond for you, very helpful! I met loads of great people! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Japan!!

I stayed here only one night! The hostel is near to the subway (1 min walk) it's a fun place since it has a small bar-lounge area where people gather and drink! Your first drink everyday is free :) Specially good if traveling by yourself, it's eassy to meet other travelers. The location is not the best, but it's alright.

Toco was by far the most civilised hostel experience I have ever had. The hosts are young and enthusiastic but respectful of privacy. The bar area is an excellent way to meet fellow travelers and speak in English or Japanese but closes at 11 so as not to disrupt those who want to sleep. The location is not bad at all - one stop away from the Yamanote sen on the Hibiya sen, and the facilities are beautiful, with a little Japanese garden and lovely tatami rooms. I was very sad to leave.

Fantastic hostel - beautiful old Japanese building with a really cool garden courtyard, very clean, super friendly and helpful staff, and better security than most (big under-bed lockers, and the luggage room for pre-checkin/post-checkout is locked and only accessible by staff). Wall are quite literally paper, though, so no sound insulation to speak of...although the clients seem to be quieter/more polite than at your average hostel, so that wasn't too much of an issue.

I had a great time, thanks! the bar and the cooking of traditional Japanese food was great.hostel is spotless clean, staff is very helpful (speak prefect English) and the atmosphere is great in this heritage building.bit fare from the main sights but for that it is super quiet at night.

Very nice, the idea with the Japanese cooking when I was there! And it's really cute that the lady tried to memorize the whole hostel presentation in English, and had to laugh when she didn't know the last to things. Great job :)

This hotel is just 2 minutes from Iriya Station, just one stop before Ueno. It is a nice place to socialise with local people and guests from all over the world. It is also near the convenient store, 100 Yen shop and farmacy. It is a good choice for budget travellers.

Great hostel in an older Japanese-style house. The staff is very friendly and the hostel has a bar that gives guests a free drink every night. The hostel is located very close to a subway station and within walking distance of a JR Station. Its only downside is that it is in a quieter neighborhood, with little to do at night. I would definitely stay there again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Toco Tokyo Heritage Hostel. I was made to feel very welcome by friendly and helpful staff, who knew the area thoroughly and always had a smile on their faces. A breakfast was provided every day for 300 yen, which brought people to the kitchen and made the mornings very social. The hostel itself was spotless and the beds were very comfortable in the 8-bed dorm. The only downside was that the walls were very thin, but its not the end of the world!
