Tom needs a bigger sign outside his house so you know which house is his. Apart from that the hostel was great for a nice quiet stay.
I really enjoyed my one night at Tom's Hostel. It was a relaxing, clean, and friendly place. The best part of the Hostel was Tom and his family. Tom helped us plan the rest of our trip, and gave us some wonderful advice. The hostel is a little far away from most things, so if you plan to cook buy your groceries before arriving. Wish we had enough time to stay there again.
It was a real pleasure to stay at Tom's for 2 nights! I highly recommend it. A warm welcome and hospitality from the irish :)
We had an excellent stay at the hostel! We appreciated the warm and friendly welcome as well as the accadating manner of our host! We felt that Tom was extremely generous and wanted us to enjoy our stay!

The rules and regulations were slightly over-the-top. The secure lockers required a padlock, which one had to hire (for several euros per day). And if a customer dared place his or her padlock on the locker we were warned it would be CUT OFF! How ridiculous ! The room was, tiny, to say the least, with no window and only just enough room to put 2 cases on the floor. The chest of drawers had only one drawer with a bottom. The others were totally useless. Luckily we only stayed one night.
They charged us for using water for a hot shower and it was freezing in our room. A good thing was that they provided a shuttle service to the 10km drive to Waterford.
Tom's is an average hostel, works just fine but not much else. Cold temperature inside, we were freezing! Thin walls, you cold hear people talking two rooms away. The pub nearby is empty and pretty run down. Tom is very helpful and friendly and will give you advice on what to do in the towns nearby.
To the moment.the best hostel i,ve been in Ireland,i,ll come back

The hostel is ten kilometers outside of Waterford and it can be difficult to get around the area without a car or bike. However, the manager is very friendly and accommodating and there is an excellent atmosphere. I had lots of fun staying there and would definitely come back
