Tomato was great. The room was spacious and clean, the bedding was nice and the facilities were perfect for a weekend trip to Kyoto. My twin room was located close to the bathroom, sink, and common areas so it was naturally a little bit louder, but the I would definitely stay here again. The staff spoke perfect English and the policies and prices can't be beat.

We got what we paud for and we didn't pay much. Biggest annoyances were distant and passive staff, too much noise (for a hostel), walls are very thin and all tourists are asked to walk silently and keep quiet. Doesn't work though. Common room is a small room that houses 4 people. Our room had no windows and a shaky bed. Only 2 showers and 4 toilets for the whole hostel. If you plan on washing your clothes here be prepared to walk a few blocks to the coin operated dryer. Wifi works

Close to station, made it easy to get around, I arrived very early on a night bus and hostel gave me the code so I could get in and leave my bags in the common room. Staff has limited English, I recommend asking what to do from the info center at the train station. Clean. Low social atmosphere. Laundry only 100 yen. Stay here.
