We were greeted with a very warm welcome, extremely friendly and helpful . The accommodations were very basic, but we only need a place to sleep and for 57 USD for the night, you can't go wrong.

As a single female traveler, I felt safe while staying in Chungking Mansions. The location was convenient and the staff were helpful and accommodating. I would recommend them to anyone going to Hong Kong and on a budget.

Its one of the hundreds in Chunking Mansions, but it has a kitchen with fridge to keep your own stuff and a water dispenser, great if you dont like paying too much on the street for a simple bottle of water. When i was there, end of march 2011, there was a filipine young woman managing the hostel (sorry, i dont remember her name). She is a lovely and kind person, with a genuine smile and happiness, who treated me better than the staff of a four stars hotel. Ten stars for her.

It's a hostel, so don't expect clean, big and pretty-its not. HOWEVER! the Location is great!! And although it looks like it's not safe since there are so many foreigners in the complex-they are all harmless and chances are, if they try calling you, its to try to sell you something. Also, after 11pm or 12am police patrolling the ground floor of the building. Another GREAT thing is the service! The receptionist (Cha Cha) is so friendly and helpful and the owner (Tom) and his wife are nice too!
