Location was perfect, hotel was very clear. We had a great time !!!

Nice and clean, if somewhat anonymous hotel. The location right next to the Ueno station is very good and convenient.

We would consider staying here again. Good service, good location, and room was pretty clean. The room on the fifth floor (near fire escape), the bathroom smelled like urine.

The staff were all very nice and went out of their way to help. The room was very clean but for some reason the bathroom smelled (like mould) although I couldn't see a visual reason for the smell. The room was great aside from that.

Everything was great. Very close to the station. The staff could speak English very well and communication was no problem. Even when sending emails prior to my trip, they responded quickly and thoroughly with any questions I had. There was absolutely nothing inconvenient to staying here as an American. Only wish was that the rooms had a safe, but it was fine.

I stayed for four nights in a twin room at Touganeya Hotel. This place is incredibly good value when compared to the hostels I was staying at - yes, the rooms are small, but they do have an ensuite bathroom! Glorious! You simply cannot find ensuites at this price elsewhere. Very clean, too. Look, I don't mind the small room - hey, this is Tokyo! The friendly desk staff helped me book a butoh performance. Also, Ueno has some cheap eats. I enjoyed my stay.
