It was a nice hostel although I think we got lucky with a newly refurbished room - 201 - and the facilities - ie showers & internet - were decent. Theres a limited menu which was good & there are places opposite with other options for less. The hostel is a fifteen minute walk from the lake but you can hire bikes which are great for exploring the tea village and surrounding area. The staff are very helpful too. Check out Maya Bar - 5 min taxi - for a few bevaldinhos!

it is a good place, localized in the mountain, bordered of green trees and tourist destinies. For backpackers i think is ok. I love the decoration. Only the cleanness is not every day you must to make the request if you want clean your each day..

The first hostel which has rating not corresponding to reality. There is NO WESTERN NO CHINESE FOOD available. In order to get some proper food you have to take a bus and go to the city that takes around 30 mins. But the information in description still remains. Mattresses are overused and you feel like sleeping on a bench. However if asked they provide with additional one. The lockers in the doorm are not working, but you can leave you stuff at the reception. Doorm smells. Hard to get hot water

the hotel is a bit far from the train station, but the botanical garden, hangzhou bay and west lake gardens were all nearby, which made it awesome. unfortunately, there are very little restaurants nearby. the staff werent very helpful. they always looked to busy for us, and when we asked to call a cab, the guy said it wouldnt be possible if we were travelling a short distance. when we asked if its easy to catch a cab on our own, he said no. so we had to wait in the rain for awhile. THANKS a lot.

We shared a dorm with 8, the room was not big but tidy. We did see some of the double rooms are pretty good. The chinese traditioal decoration of room was very beautiful.

The location of the hostel is good, many attractions are located within a few stations around the Dongwuyuan bus station. The room is bright with a big window. I like the paintings on the wall of the staircase.

I was in Hangzhou for a short stay. The hostel staff were helpful and friendly, easy to ask for advice. I would like to stay here if I come to Hangzhou again next time.

Female staff was so rude and impolite, further more did not understand English when the hostel boasts staff being able to speak English. So rude and unhelpful. Tour information not in English, even though I had previously emailed asking for details and was told they were available in the hostel. No hot water. Rooms half broken and not cleaned. Moved rooms three times in one day. No DVDS available, even though advertised as available. Only good thing was the cute dog, and the location.

Good side: (1) a lot Chinese and English books to read (2) 8-bunk dorm is small for big guys (3) Next to the main road, easy to find. Bad side: (1) only one toilet and one shower for dorm.

The location is good, close to the West Lake. Rent a bike to tour in Hangzhou is a good choice.

Friendly and helpful staff. They let me keep some bags in their luggage room for some more days although I didn't stay at the hostel these days. Cold in the 6 ppl dorm during winter which is usual in China. Ask for an extra blanket.

24-hour hot water is very convenient for us. We don't have to worry about coming back to the hostel at late night.
