Tower hostel is is a good place to stay. It has its rules, so just deal with it. Actually, read them first. The place is clean, staff is OK. Location, not good. On the map it can look close to the centre but it is on a friggin stiff hill. And if you read the hostel's instructions (which I didn't) you will request free the pick up, so you don't need to climb up. In the end, yes, the place has its particularities, but if you agree with them (or just dont care) just go for it.

Great welcome from staff, couldn't be nicer and more informative, small but clean rooms.

I enjoyed my stay. beautiful view of the city. It is a 10 minute walk to center old town but I enjoyed that walk.

Put us problems for everything, we could not leave backpacks, did not let us wifi more than one hour and a half, the hot water ran out in the first shower and heating was off all night while it was snowing outside and giving you just a sad blanket, reason for which we had to sleep fully clothed. Fatal. They are five euros but it is assumed that Bosnia is cheap and that according to them, the accommodation was very good and not you warned that should bring sleeping bag, they also point out that

It was well worth the money. Nothing fancy but we didnt need anything like that. Clean rooms, clean facilities, talkative staff and nice location in the old town near Bascarsija.

It was a OK hostel, but they where a bit strange. I payed for a room with a bed for 2 persons and a own toilet, but they dident let me and my best friend sleep in the same room. "Only for a man and his wife"....So we got a smaller room with bunkbeds for the same price...and we shered toilet with 10 other people....!

Good location & clean, but the staff wasn't kind and the double room was actually in a corridor. So with 5 € extra we change it with another one but really small (2,5 x 2 m) without furniture except for the bed (that wasn't actually a real double). The place is difficult to find because there aren't signs outside (I think because it hasn't the regular permits), but near the the city center. There is a possibility to park the car inside (for 5 €) but it's really difficult to go in (very narrow).

Extremely clean. And going back there during the night was beautiful! The cemetery is amazing. The hostel has a nice atmosphere and the staff is very kind and helpful. The room we slept in was also pretty big. Maybe one other bathroom would be nice, but it was okay anyway!

Value for money is great, especially if you book from hostelworld.com. Dorm room is really spacious and large, with large roof windows. It also is the cleanest I have stayed in so far. The shower facility is nice as well. The downside is location. You do have a bit of a hike up from the center to where the hostel is. There is no WIFI, which is a problem, because you have to hike down to the center and find a cafe to get it. You have a slow computer with 10mb/s. But overall, good value.

decent hostel...

The hostel is exactly as it says in the description: homely, simply-furnished and clean. Staff picked us up from the airport for a reasonable fare and, once we got to the hostel, gave us an excellent overview of Sarajevo and all its tourist spots. Staff are friendly, chatty and speak excellent English. It is important that you familiarise yourselves with the rules of the hostel, so there are no surprises. It is a bit of a walk uphill but nothing horribly strenuous. Great place at a great price!

tower hostel is so nice and comfortable. i like there so much. hostel's owners are very friendly and cheerful and very very polite :) :) if i go to sarajevo again, i will stay tower hostel !

This hostel had some very strange rules, such as locking guests out between the hours of 11am and 5pm, meaning you could not return to your room for anything. Even when one of us was sick they made a big deal about letting us in to use the room, even though we have paid for it. They were friendly, but the rooms were never cleaned and the bins over flowing before anything was done. Probably would not stay here again. They did offer a airport drop off/pick up service but you need a phone.

Our microsite clearly states that we DO have a LOCK-OUT. If something is new to you it does not mean that it is "strange" or unusual. You actually did not pay for the stay in the hostel during lock-out, and it was our act of good will to let you in and postpone or cancel our daily obligations. Prices are low in our hostel, but you have to take some limitations in account. It is not OK that you say that you were sick in order to make us look bad. Bathrooms were cleaned every day, and bins got emptied twice a day, but we are not responsible if guests in meantime leave a lot of rubbish. You pay approx. 8 euros for the hostel per night and expect us to clean after you every day in your room ???

The location is good - a little difficult to find. Make use of the free pick-up if possible. The hostel doesn't look like a hostel.... it doesn't have a sign or anything. We just had to turn up and keep ringing the doorbell until someone came to get us. We weren't even sure it was the right place/a hostel. There is lock out from 11 until 5pm. The water in the showers was cold. The room was ICE COLD. We couldn't sleep AT ALL because we were SO FREEZING and because the room had no door & was noisy

Owner Comment (Hide)
The water in showers was not cold but only lasts for about 3 to 5 minutes, and after that you need to wait for half hour to get warm again. We lower our night heating a bit, but always stay between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius, which is enough for comfortable sleep. It was not ice cold as you claim, but you were maybe sick so it was ice cold for you. Nobody else ever complained, except for us to actually lower the heating further. Hostel is not noisy, and you do not tell the truth. If you expect to have silence like in a desert, no hostel can provide you that. As concerning your room, you had a choice to choose, but chose upper level with doors on lower floor, and you could choose any other room, but you wanted to stay in a dorm without other people around. It is not fair to complain about something you could have easily changed.

We really enjoyed our stay in Tower Hostel. The guys who run the hostel even found us wandering the streets in order to drive us there! They had lots of information and were extremely helpful. Located just a 10minute walk up the hill (good exercise) from the main square, it was a real bargain for the price and would highly recommend it.

There was no Wifi which would have been good. Also the staff required you to call them to avail of the free pick up service and as our phones were not working, we were a bit stuck. However once we found a friendly pub with Wifi we were able to call them and they were down to us almost immediately.

Nice hostel located in the hills at a 10 minute walk from the pigeon square. The room we were in had a nice view over Sarajevo. Furtermore, rooms are clean and the staff is helpfull! Would recommend to stay here in Sarajevo!

Very friendly staff. Nice place to stay.Good value for money.

20min walk up a hill not good location. We were told that we couldnt have the private rm we booked as we were 2 girls. The men argued in front of us in Bosnian for about 20min making us feel very uncomfortable. He said that we shouldnt come here & disrespect his country, which we of course were not.We were told we could camp in the back yard in place of our private double rm or a rm with ppl walking through??We were made to feel like 2nd class citizens, think it was completely unnecessary & rude.
