The location was great! Really close to the Venice Mestre train station. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only issue was there was only one restroom, so you could be stuck waiting for a while to use it.
It is advertised as bed and breakfast, however it is not. You don't get breakfast, you have to rent sheets, you have to have a phone or be able to be let in by another guest because the man running the hostel is almost never there. Even though it says check in time is between 3-10 pm it is completely false. There is one bathroom which is shared among a max of 10 guests. The hot water runs out very quickly. Overall it was a relatively inexpensive place to stay, very safe, good location

Staff were hardly ever there. Beds were old and horrible as well as the blanket that came with it. One bathroom for the entire hostel, shower gets water everywhere and you have to hold the shower head. Positive 10 minute walk to the master station into Venice.
I stayed at mestre, becouse it is cheaper than staying at the island. There are lots of train goes from mestre to venice and the other way around, bus also. This hostel located really close to the train station, around 10 min walking, really convinient. There also super market nearby. The surrounding are quiet housing, perfect for having some rest. I felt save to walk at night from the train station. There are also cheap and good pizza restaurant around the corner. Too bad, no kitchen.
You will not stay cheaper in Venice Mestre and be this close to the action - just 10 minutes walk to the station and 10 minutes to Venice. You get what you pay for - this place is seriously cheap and as such it has terribly noisy and uncomfortable beds and a very average shower/bathroom. But seriously, who comes to Venice to enjoy their hostel? If you want a nicer place, spend another 20 euros a night for a better one. If you want to save money in a clean, safe hostel, this is the place for you.
