Great Backpackers with an awesome winter special. All the staff were really friendly and happy to help. All the facilities like kitchen and common area are big and clean and my friends and I loved the outdoor area where you could chill out and have drinks with other travelers. We will definitely be back!

Small things that would help would be hand soap for the basins. Room had really noisy rattling window and bedsheet didn't fit bed properly.

If you dont want to get any sleep, play music all night loud, and not let other guests sleep, this is your hostel!

Hi Dirk, Thank you for your feedback. We loved having you as one of our long-termers. During summer our hostel gets pretty full, with all sorts of activities happening (although some nights can get pretty quiet). However, we have a sign and always remind our guests to keep quiet from 11pm onwards. We always accommodate our guests need if they require to be moved to quieter rooms, like we did in your case. Thanks again.

Great courtyard with a pool table, big kitchen, lovely staff, perfect located....had the time of my trip there! Met lovely people there and would everybody recommend this hostel :)

I was supposed to stay in the hostel for 4 nights. I arrived on the hottest day ever recorded in Hobart. I had to sleep in a room without windows and ac with temperatures of 42 degrees. As the hostel was fully booked I couldn't change my room. I would not stay in this hostel again and would't recommend it!

Didn't recieve my key deposit despite checking out at 10am Beds were noisy and squeaky kept everyone up all night

Hi Elyse, We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at our hostel. All of us, at the Transit Backpackers are always doing our best for our guests, so that they enjoy their stay at our hostel and in Hobart / Tasmania in general. Regarding the key deposit that was not returned to you, would you be able to let us know please, what was the reason that was given to you by our staff? We would like to do our best to work out the reason why. We generally always return the $10 key deposit, unless there is a specific reason. In addition, we generally fairly flexible about check out time, we understand that not every guest of ours can complete the check out process by 10am sharp, we always give our guests a grace period. It is not uncommon for our guests to complete the check out process closer to 11am or even after 11am and we still return their key deposits. As to the beds squeaky, we always do our best to keep our facilities in order and clean. However, at times, we may not be able to attend to every single items needing maintenance or repair instantly, as we have a total of 116 beds in our hostel, for this, we are sorry. We thank you for your feedback!

It is too loude to sleep, people stay there not take care each other, it is not a good place to get rest. No matter who you are, and what age you are, in the hotel, people needs to keep quite, consider others. Your hotel should and need give some educations or limits to people who stay there. Otherwise, entire hotel just like an open market. Sencerely

Hi Yixin, We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at our hostel. We do have a sign posted on the wall of our lounge/dining/common area, asking all of our guests to keep the noise down inside the hostel after 10pm. At times, our night manager would ask some of our guests to keep the noise level down and be considerate to fellow hostel stayers. However, at times, there are parties and special occasions, where our guests would stay late in the outside common area, bonding with each other, having a laugh, making new friendship and having a lot of fun, and do all other types of interactions that travellers and backpackers would do, but the downside is, the noise level would get carried through inside the hostel and might not suit some of other our guests, whom are trying to get to sleep or just want to have a quiet night. Please be assured, that we are doing our best, so that our guests can enjoy their stay at our hostel. Thank you for your feedback!

Good location only a short walk down to shopping streets etc. Stayed there on New Year's Eve, which had good atmosphere without being too crazy. Only letdown is a lack of in-room lockers and cramped rooms. Bunk beds were very low and we hit our heads a few times.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel. the only thing which was a bit annoying was the direct connection of our room to the dining room.
