The hostel is in a good location for people who want to be close to coffee shops, red light district and town centre. The hostel was squashy and unclean with a narrow winding staircase. We had to climb the four stories to o ur room every day and as we climbed we had to step over huge piles of dirty washing that were left throughout the venue. There was one toilet and one shower per level - which were not kept very clean. We were promised a refund by staff which we never recieved.

Convenient Location is the primary reason. The stairs really suck and it seems they give the ones with the most to carry the top floor All of my room mates had 2 or more bags and some on the 1st floor only had a few shopping bags I do occasionally pay attention when people are checking in and checking out.

We stayed in an 8 bed ensuite. Room was actually really clean and nice when we got there, even the bathroom. It was only until our disgusting European roommates decided to leave all their rubbish on the floor and in the bathroom that it became gross. Staff were really friendly. Great location if you want to be close to red light district and central station

The hostel is not clean enough especially in bathroom, and the door seemed very old that it will make many noise. So I didn't sleep well.

-Great location -There was a church clock that was ringing every hour of the night, waking me up. -Good size lockers in room, but bring a padlock. -Wanted to charge my phone overnight but the electricity socket was really far away from my bed so I couldn't do it, didn't want to leave my phone that far away from me. -I only stayed one night and I thought this was good value for my money, even though it wasnt perfect.

The hostel was dirty, noisy and located in a dodgy area. The only good thing was the fact it was so close to the central station.

The hostel is in a GREAT location. It's near all of the best tourist attractions. The staff is ok, they seem to be annoyed by some of the hostel guest. The cleanliness of the building could be A LOT better. My room had old cigarette ashes on the window panes that needed to be clean and it seems as though the whole building needs to be refurbished. The atmosphere is also a little strange. One good thing is there is a 24-hour desk attendant and the bar stays open all night.

Severely average, but that's what you need sometimes. Felt secure within the hostel, and the staff were lovely. Radiators worked a bit too well, hardly a complaint though. A lot of mouldy looking stuff on the ceiling of the shower (ensuite for an 8 man dorm), but plenty of hot water. Not sure of the conditions in the shared shower facilities. Toilets were clean in the mornings, but only then. There's a place called WC about 10 mins walk away, €1 to use their super-clean toilets. Not all bad.

The hostel wasn't very clean, secure and spacious, but the location is absolutely perfect, just behind warmoestraat at 100 mt from Baba and Grasshopper and 3 minutes walk from dam square. The receptionist we met (Michele) was very nice and helpful. The price was good (14 € per night in the first days of January). So I recommend Travel hostel if you are young and you don't mind a little dust on the floor or a not very clean bathroom.

the location is excellent & very easy to find. the place needs some decoration its quite shabby. the room was a 4 bed dorm it was very small but had a tv & sink which helped.i saw a mouse in my room, better than a rat i suppose.overall i would probably stay here again, due to the excellent location..in the red light district & close to train station..

The bathroom was terrible, the smell was unbelivable. There was noise the whole night long, the receptionist was very bad-mannered and it was too expensive for what they gave.

The sheets reek of cigarettes and smoke, the hallways reeked of vomiting. Dirty bathrooms, lockers full of rubbish. Really horrible.

I had no problems at this hostel, it was very good for the price. Also there were bathrooms and TV's in the rooms. I would stay here again.
