very, very good value hostel! what it offers on the website as "free" is definitely free, and it's more than in most hostels (free juices, lockers, linen, towels, etc.). staff is very nice and helpful. atmosphere is great with the hostel having been an old pub. large number of bathrooms being well attended. restaurant is not cheap for a hostel, but good quality, and supermarkets are just a few streets away.

My stay at Travel Joy Hostel was one of the most fantastic experiences of my trip. The place is in an unreal location right on the Thames and within walking distance to the metro whilst the 24 bus (which runs everywhere) stop at it's final stop right outside the hostel. The atmosphere is amazing but the best thing about this hostel is the staff. They are all willing to go out of their way to help you in any way possible, and if your nice to them they'll probably take you to some awesome bar/club

Great place to stay in London, across the Thames from the factory on the cover of Pink Floyd's album, Animal. A nice 30 minute walk to Big Ben, it's basically a pub with beds above. Even if you don't feel like going outside, you can watch movies and throw on headsets they have, and get some alone time. We all need it from time to time. Lockers are big, and you can rent a lock as well. The staff is always friendly, always willing to help however they can. At 6 it turns into a restaurant until 10.

Really good hostel. It is, perhaps, a bit far from the city centre, but it's very good connected thanks to the underground. Moreover, the facilities in the hostel are fantastic and the stuff is absolutely friendly :)

I enjoyed everything in the hostel, from the free drinks, the staff, facilities, etc. Will definitely recommend to stay here.

Clean rooms but bathrooms could be cleaner. Good breakfast and bar hang-out area. Within walking distance of Big Ben and other sites to see, as well as bus routes to take you anywhere you need to go. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff were friendly and the complimentary drinks were great. The social atmosphere was extremely lacking. People tended to stay in their own corners. Much of the patronage also consisted of older people or families. This is very bad for a solo traveller, as meeting people is the most important thing in a hostel.

I was last here in March/April 2012 and I was sooo impressed with the many changes made throughout the hostel, including the pub, such as the decor, the new showers (hot water available ALL THE TIME!), etc. The service has been the same throughout the two years I've made use of their facilities: EXCELLENT! There is one thing I would like to change though and that is the carpet which is very VERY dirty but other than that, everything else gets better every time. See you in 2013! and thank you:)

It's a very nice hostel with nice stuff! The value for money is really good, but as a bad thing i can say that the one of the heaters from our room (room 5, 2nd floor) didn't work and it was a bit colder. Also the bathrooms were a bit dirty, but in rest everything was ok. If i have to come again to London i will stay again to Travel Joy Hostels Chelsea.

Was a great place to stay! Really friendly staff, great security, and loved the free drinks for all hostel guests. Only thing was the beds seemed to be quite old and it was very cold in the room I was in. You guys really need to put new windows in. Besides that, I would recommend to friends :) Thanks!

Fantastic hostel. Clean, friendly and helpful staff, lovely pub downstairs with couches, music, free coffee etc. 12 bed dorms suck, but this hostel makes them as bearable as possible by giving bottom bunks their own curtains for a sense of privacy. Bathrooms clean, showers have full doors for complete privacy, staff let me keep my luggage there from 7:30am the day I arrived until the end of the following day, well after I had checked out. This was so incredibly helpful!

My two friends and I stayed at Travel Joy for a whole week in december. We enjoyed our stay a lot! Super friendly staff that was more than happy to help us if we had any questions. An extra big thanks to awesome Olli, who made us feel welcome the minute we walked through the door! The atmposphere is very laid back, and the fact that the bar is the reception makes it all not so sophisticated (ugh, hate sophisticated hostels). Oh, and bus24 is genius, although the bus drivers are cranky as hell...

Hallo, it was a very god experience and completely different reffering to the German Jugendherbergen. Very friendly staff, wich was helpful at every moment. -that´s it, whats make the difference and let you see away from little lacks. I especially liked the atmosphere of the old pub, so during breakfast as well as at the evening comming home from town. I will propose your hostel and hope to return the next time being in London. merry christmas and a happy new year. S.G. zampolli

Still kind of far from the metro. But definitely comfortable to stay. They also offer some free drinks, which is very nice. More like a traditional pub, a little bit difficult to meet people there.

Simply the fact a band is playing live and everybody is having a great time when I came in makes that hostel a feel-good place! Staff did an excellent job, rooms are quite nice and the breakfast was pretty good as well! Perfectly located with a bus stop in front to get to the sights.

I was only here for a brief period but it was excellent. The staff were great and the facilities were really good. If I come back to London, I know where I'll stay.
