Was not told when check in was until we got there so we had to leave our bags in the lobby for an hour or so. Apart from that, very pleasant stay! Was a bit noisey though

It took forever to find this place. When we finally found it and checked in we were given a room on the ground floor directly next to the kitchen. Literally I could open the door from our room and be standing in the kitchen next to the garbage cans. It was ackward being stared at by people cooking and eating and it was loud. People were up late drinking and socializing. If I didn't have ear plugs there is no way I would have been able to sleep. The room was dirty and possibly under construction.

This place was FILTHY! if staff aren't going to be responsible for enforcing the rules (ie clean up after yourself) then they need to hire a full time cleaner. we stayed for 2 days and on every occasion there were dirty dishes everywhere (numerous floors), flies hovering everywhere and the stench of garbage - probably because they only sporadically emptly the industrial-size rubbish bins and never actually disenfected them. showers equally filthy. place was full of people looking for work. AVOID

Nicest hostel I stayed at in Wellington. Big, but nicely designed with separate zones making it feel smaller than it really is. Kitchens are lacking in equipment but clean. Lots of common space including a decent lounge. WiFi is very expensive.

There is no noise policy in this huge hostel, nowhere it's write to stop noise during the night. People could go in the 2 courtyards at any time and so awake everybody around just by talking. It was impossible to sleep before 2 am, even with earplugs and 1 night, at 4.30 am, a man was shouting "wake up everybody" during 10 min .... Just awful. Why these courtyards are not lock during the night ??? it's a hostel, not a club ! Avoid if you want to sleep !

Big, modern hostel located in central Wellington. Comfortable with a nice lounge area. Kitchen not particularly well stocked and could do with more toilets/showers but otherwise good. Wi-Fi is ridiculously expensive.

Stayed here during the Sevens, so I obviously didn't spend much time in the hostel! Of course, the atmosphere was great and everyone else staying there was really friendly. The staff were excellent. The location is superb - only a 5-minute walk from Courtenay Place. My only criticism is that there weren't enough bathrooms - this was especially noticeable on Sevens weekend when everyone was spending ages getting ready in the showers! Overall, I would probably stay here again.

The bathrooms were dirty and the kitchen was really messy. It was very noisy especially next to the bbq pit. People were drinking and then a couple guys started arguing and someone throw something at my window.

All round, a pretty good place to stay. Location wise, you can walk to most points of interest easily including the nightlife. Parking was a pain, but that's to be expected in a city such as this.

The night was horrible! The 4 person bedroom was the size of the bathroom where you could hardly move, the walls are paperthin so you could here people in the room next to you talking and there was so much noise in the lounge till early morning,no curtains... I maybe slept for 2 hours that night! That's pretty sad cause the kitchen and gaming are/lounge were really nice!

Nothing on the website lets you know that the hostel is that big, and as a rule I don't like the bigger ones. However, Trek Global has many redeeming features, amongst which: the bathrooms, the living area and the kitchens. We had a really comfortable stay and it wasn't as noisy as we feared despite New Year's Eve. The beds are good and so is the linen. One can tell it's new and I hope it stays as functional, comfortable and well equipped as it is in the future.
