Great hostel near the Van Gogh Museum. The breakfast was very abundant.

First let me start from something and only thing positive about this hostel. The location was nice. Exactly opposite to Vangogh museum. Good connectivity. Now about the room except the bed nothing was good. The flush in the toilet didn't work well, the shower was broken (though was changed next day after we complained), and the big the was the room was highly suffocating as we could not open the window AT ALL.

The only good thing about the hostel was the breakfast and the location, all the rest os quite bad

This hostel is a converted hotel and so in a lot of rooms they have just crammed a lot of bunk beds into a tiny room, which is not that comfortable, but it is pretty clean. The issue is that because it was a hotel there are pretty much no hostel facilities (common rooms, kitchens etc...) which leads to zero atmosphere and chance to meet other travellers. The hostel itself is also quite far away from the centre of amsterdam. What I can say is that they do have a nice free breakfast!

Great location, but the rooms are small. But if you only need a base whilst you are visiting then this place is pretty near perfect. You are very close to the Rijksmuseum, the Concert Gebouw, the Stedelijk Museum, the Van Gogh Museum, and a major supermarket. You are on a major tram and bus route and the airport shuttle bus is only seconds walk away. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good and in a nice are. it is a great budget place to stay for a short vacation.
