It was very quiet during my visit, missed the traveller's vibe. Staff is friendly and helpful but only speak Portuguese, so if you don't it might be difficult to communicate. Wel situated, 5min climb to the main square. Nice breakfast. They have 3 cute cats, unfortunately they sneak onto the beds too and the dorm I was in had a very strong cat smell.

Great Place to stay. It feels like home.. Family.... Clean Place and Bathrooms. Great place to develop relationship..

Staff was really helpful and accommodating. It's more like a house converted to a hostel, and it' feels very home-y. Very easy to access from the center (walking to the center is pretty hard though because of the hills). Important to note that there are cats here, which were all very cute and very friendly, but might be troublesome to allergic individuals.

The roof leaks badly in the front dorm. Some bathroom fittings need replacing

Great hostel! Good location (few blocks from main attractions), very warm staff (Jussara - the owner - is constantly there and is very helpful and friendly). We stayed in a twin bed room - very simple, but had small TV, private restroom and it was quiet at night. If you're into trekking, MTB, outdoor sports in general, this place is a good choice - they organize all types of outdoor adventures and Jussara is one of the guides. I would definitively be back.

Lovely house in the middle of the historic city of Ouro Preto. They also run a small tourist agency with individual tours and we had a great hike plus climbing tour with them. Only downside is that they only speak very little English.

amazing location and atmosphere thank you!

Breakfast was delicious and staff extremely atentious and kind. Would definetly stay again if we go back to Ouro Preto.

We stayed 3 nights at this hostel, the staff doesn't speak english so I will recommend you to speak portuguese only. The hostel is clean and tidy but the breakfast is a bit poor and there is no computer (you have to bring your own tablet etc). Its a good hostel if you want to feel the Ouro Preto typical way of life.

We are sorry about this misunderstanding. A part of our regular staff was traveling for the holidays and was substituted by a trainee for a couple of days. Since he spoke your native language, French, (and also Portuguese) with you and your family, we never noticed your wish to speak English, which he speaks as well. This trainee also did not make it through the selection process and does not work for us anymore. We did provide you our laptop extensively and do so, when travellers need it.

Nice house. Good location and spacious dorm. The only negative was the male receptionist who wanted to charge me more, but the owner Jussara was very helpful and friendly, always with a smile and a lot of information about the city. Se voce va a Ouro Preto fique en Trilhas!

Although we only stayed one night the hostel manager did everything she could to help us, including getting up at 6:30am to put out breakfast for us as we had to leave early and organising a taxi for us. the hostel was spotless when we stayed there. We were the only people in a six bed dormitory so we had lots of space and it was quiet which suited us. The kitchen looked nice, although we didn't use it ourselves. The location is good too.

Good hostel but no atmosphere

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hostel is nicely decorated and well equipped with everything you need to self cater. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and it felt like we were sharing a house with friends. The staff are very friendly and helpful and can help you plan activities. Jassara is also a guide with a local company that offers a variety of trips and activities (recommend hike in Parque do Itacolomi)

Great hostel. Run by lovely people. Close to everything you'll need for a great time in Ouro Preto.

Beautiful and clean hostel! Loved it!

It´s a little hostel with 2 dormitories and 1 private room. The staff is really friendly and nice. I`d recommend to stay here. The view from our room was really nice. Ouro Preto is a beautiful place. Don´t miss Mariana, too. You can take a bus to get there.
