I had a wonderful stay at Carpe Diem!!! The staff was so friendly and helpfull. They organised trips, boked busses and taxis, and everything with a smile. Food in the hostel is fantastic. Western and chinese. Location is just out of town, away from the noise. Easy to get into the city with the bikes (bring a flash light)

Wonderful Hostel. Not right in the center of town so very peaceful and quiet. However only a short bike ride into town. Friendly staff and helpful or organizing trips, taxis, buses etc.

Its a perfect place to stay. Its a bit outside the city center (takes about 30 minutes walk) but its totally worth it. The staff is extraordinary kind and helpfull. They can organise for us many trips, reservations or activity. The place is quiet, with a very nice view on the mountains. I cannot think of a reason to stay elsewhere, the efficiency and the generosity of the staff there made our stay in Yangshuo unforgettable.

Recommended by someone as it was relaxed and away from the town centre. I have to admit I probably would have picked a slightly more central location as it was at least 30min walk away or 20-30 RMB taxi. Based in a quiet village with not much in the way of local facilities but the bar/restaurant had everything as well as extremely helpful staff. Bicycles were available for rent (many of them broken) but had to be returned by midnight. Definitely better for families than solo travellers

The staff is very nice and speaks a very good English. They can plan trips for you and have excellent recommendations that go way beyond the normal tourist program. My advice: Book a bike or a scooter and visit the most beautiful areas around yangshou away from the usual Chinese mainstream.

The second night we found a cockroach in the room. We also woke up the final morning with bite marks from bed mites or bed bugs. We received an email from the hostel before arriving saying that they could pick us up at the airport, train station, bus station, or any hostel in Guilin, any time of day or night. The hostel in fact only does pick-ups in Yangshuo. The email also said that the hostel organises transfers to and from the centre 7 times a day for just 5Y a person. This is also not true.

We live in the countryside and can't guarantee that never ever a bug will sneak into a room but we do periodically treat our rooms to clear them as soon as they arise. Not sure about the misunderstanding about the pick-up service, we do offer a pick-up service from anywhere in Guilin or the airport as mentioned in our emails and on our website, however we can't find your email to request one? Instead of the rarely used shuttle service we have decided to offer all guests free bikes after 4.00pm!

Nice place, a little bit of a walk. Not really that scenic, but away from the madness of west Street. Refused to show World Cup final game!

We spent one week at Trippers Carpe Diem. It was the most enjoyable week that we had in China. Cara, Vivian and the rest of the team really made a difference. The were always available, gave us good advices and smiles. Yanshuo is an amazing place, it's like being in a postal card and having the kind of service we had at Carpe Diem made it more unforgettable.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at. The staff is really nice and can help you with any questions. They have good advices about hiking and bicycling away from the crowds. The food is tasty and the trips you can book with the hostel have a good price. Really good place. It is outside of the center but you don't go to Yanshuo to party, the nature is nice around the hostel

For everybody who likes to be a little out of town: this hostel is perfect for you! on the terrass we enjoyed our breakfast with a spectacular view of the mountains around and our beer in the still very warm evening. the hostel is clean and staff is friendly and helpfull with a good english. the bicyclerides and bath in the river (which is nearby) are a nice change to the else busy and loud life in china. since it is alittle out of town you shoul use the pickup-service when you first arrive.

I had an absolutely lovely experience staying at Trippers Carpe Diem. Unbelievably caring and helpful staff, lovely and friendly atmosphere, very welcoming and a great way to meet new people. Food is high quality and reasonably priced with lots of variety. It is not in the centre, but it's not a big deal and to be honest, you don't really want to be staying in the centre of Yangshuo anyway. The best hostel experience I have ever had, I absolutely recommend it.

The hostel (4 bed) was great - very clean and cosy. The bathroom could be better as it needed some ventilation and smelt a little damp. Other than that, everything was great and the staff were lovely.

Very nice place but far from the city. At night long walk without light on the road, still a very enjoyable place in the middle of the nature with a great terrace.

Fantastic hostel. I chose the remote location on purpose, so if you like to stay away from the bustling Yangshou, then you really should stay here. VERY clean! They clean everyday. They give you a towel and a locker. It has a lot of atmosphere. The Internet doesn't work too well but okay. Walking distance to town: about 15 mins. Good English speakers.

A wonderful stay. The food is very good, the staff very nice. Don't change anything! One improvement: The hostel maybe is running out too often of food from the menu...

BEST HOSTEL EVER! The staff is amazing and can give you AMAZING routes. Clean! Restaurant is great. great value. And it is great to stay a bit outside the city to appreciate the countryside!

Great hostel, location is out of town, but much quieter and an easy walk or bike ride to town. My only issue is that the bikes were way over-priced. You can rent them from $2 in town. At the hostel they are $5

thank you for sharing the great feedback and taking the time to help fellow travelers find a quiet and conveniently located hostel in Yangshuo! I would just like to let everyone know that our bikes are just 4$ a day and that they are of better quality and in better shape than the 2$ bikes in town. We don't want a poor bike end what could be a wonderful day out so we find it well worth to invest in decent bikes. By the way, they are just 2.5$ after noon and free after 4.00pm!
