I've stayed in no less than 50 hostels in my life and I have no doubt that this is one of the best. Considering it's located in inland China, ir has a fluent english speaking staff, that also is very professional and cheerful. We had all our meals there as the cooking is excelent -western and chinese- (much better than most chinese restaurants), they have a good bar with a good number of local and imported beers. As a plus the hostel accepts credit cards for cab rides, drinks, food, tours, etc!

Spent three nights here. As soon as I got there I told them that the bathroom had not been cleaned and the toilet was broken. They quickly cleaned the bathroom but the toilet was never fixed. The room was so damp, the clothes in our rucksacks became damp and it was like getting into a wet bed every night. Not a good experience. Lonely planet guide rates this hostel and we booked it on their recommendation. Believe me, it is nothing like their description!

Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Cleanliness in the bathroom could have been better. As weather was cold and damp we were thankful for the heating blanket. Pity that our view was a wall in construction. Meals offered were excellent. With slight restriction we enjoyed our stay.

Really good place, great food - it's so nice to start the day with such a view and the breakfast set (the one with yammy muesli and fried eggs!). Staff is really friendly and speak good English. Beds are very comfy and you even get 2 towels! Wish all hostels in China were like this:)

Great hostel, very friendly staff, as well as Tripper, he is a super cool guy. It is a short way outside of the centre but I really enjoyed the quiet and the view. Plus bikes are free so that is no complaints at all. The food was very good as well as the beer (not just Tsingtao). Bed was quite comfortable and the rooms were spacious. If I was back in Yangshuo would not hesitate one second to stay here again!

This place is lovely. Amazing scenery and a quiet short walk from the main town. We did the kayaking, rock climbing and light show which were all excellent. Food was a little pricey but high quality so we ate there every night. Loved the lasagne, best in Asia! Only issue was the shower was barely warm. I pointed this out and was told it was hot. Moderately warmer than cold would be a better description. Not great when it's a bit chilly outside. Staff are excellent overall and very friendly.

It was an amazing stay in Trippers Carpe Diem for us - it's a quiet and relaxing place with a wonderful view from veranda. The staff is extremely friendly, the food is really tasty too and the best thing for us - bicycles for rent just in the hostel, you don't have to go anywhere! We enjoyed our stay a lot!

The room 103 was very humid (I forgot to turn on the AC which would have helped). Apart from that, it was a great place. Staff was helpful and nice. Atmosphere was very good. And as I was wanted to avoid the noisy "West road" of Yangshuo, it was well located for me.

We were n Yangshou to rock climb and found the staff very helpful in sorting transport to the crags. The food was quite an excellent way to start a day of climbing. Will stay again, when we return!!

We stayed in a dorm for 4 nights. The room is very big. You get a big and a small towel for free. Bathroom was clean. There are a few common rooms, one of them is the restaurant. Very Good Chinese and Western food. The staff is super friendly and speak enough English. They are actively learning, which is working great with many native speakers around.

Initially, I was only going to stay for 2 nights but ended up staying for 2 weeks. I've travelled all over China for the past 3 months and this is the best hostel in China by far. The perfect place to relax, chill-out and do nothing. Food is amazing. Try Breakfast Set B and the Double Cheeseburger with Belgian fries. A good place to have a rest from "ordinary" Chinese food. Beds are comfortable and staff are superb. It's out of Yangshuo town but that's why it's better! Calm and peaceful.

Staff really went above and beyond to help us out and answer our questions. The hostel is located outside of the main city its nice and quiet in the countryside a bit of a walk to town through a nice riverside walk way
