Very good location, just outside town, 15min to walk or 5min by bike. As Yangshuo itself is really noisy, it was really really good to get outside for sleeping and breakfast. The food is also delicious and the stuff is sooo nice and helpful. The rooms are very very good value for money. We stayed in a double room, we payed a "hostel-price" but became more like a three-star-hotel-room. Absolutely recommend this place.

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at Carpe Diem. The location was relaxed and peaceful in perfect walking distance to the town while offering the laid back atmosphere of the countryside. I would say that my only negative point was on some of the meals that we ordered. Although the kitchen claims to be MSG free, some of the meals more than make up for this by using way too much salt. Sort this problem out and you've just about got the ideal guest house.

Thank you to appreciate the free upgrade for your early reservation at the time we decided to renovate our hostel. We have now re-opened Carpe Diem at the end of March and enjoyed our first Chinese style group dinner with an enthusiastic 35 guests staying and celebrating with us that night! We hope that some guests will leave their feedback and can convince other travelers that Carpe Diem is once again the best place to stay at in Yangshuo! All the best! Cheers, Team Trippers.

Thank you to take the time to share your feedback! Great you enjoyed your stay already, for the next time you mentioned coming back, your dorm you were staying at will have a brand new curtain around each bed and charger sockets in each private locker so you can get your gadgets charged at any time being anywhere! All the best, Team Trippers

The hostel has an airy feel owing to it's sitting atop a hill far from the city center, the uncluttered outdoor facilities, and the large rooms. The staff is friendly. The dog was not. The private lodging is simple and clean. No real complaints aside from logistical issues - there's no great pretext for bringing girls from town back to your room, for example, since there is nothing special in the area. The hostel needs something unique on site, like a pinball machine.

Dear travelers, contrary to what has been mentioned in our previous reply, breakfast will be available for everyone to choose from out our menu and we will launch a family style dinner buffet for everyone to enjoy together which will give you the opportunity to sample a wide array of the best local Chinese dishes at a budget price and help you to socialize with fellow travelers and find companions for the varied day tours we organize which offer some of the best travel memories and new friends!

This hostel has seen much better days. Its worn down, but the staff said they would do repairs soon. The first in 4 years. The pool table is messing balls and it rests over broken floor boards. The scenery is much better than what you would get in town, but you are far away from any stores or restaurants. The toilet in our room did not always work. There is no bbq even though advertised. The Chinese food was horrible. The saving grace of this hostel is the staff who are great.

Contrary to this traveler’s beliefs, we do close for improvements each year but this year we are delighted to announce thorough renovations from the 25th of Febr. Our terrace will be refurbished and prepared for free daily all-you-can-eat breakfast buffets and as of April we will organize daily buffet dinners too where you can try a variety of the best local dishes in a beautiful and atmospheric environment at a very affordable rate to encourage social interaction and a cultural experience!

The hostel is not located in the city but in the next village. there 's a good connection to the city if you go by bike (rentable at the hostel!) and follow the river. takes 10min by bike and offers a nice view. by taxi/driver:20-30 yuan. There's a driver at the hostel how brings you to town, just ask. Nice atmosphere in the bar/lounge. the outside area must be lovely in warmer times than january. Spacey rooms and good food.

Nice hostel a bit outside of Yangshuo. Offers great deals on renting bikes. Nice facilities. We were there outside the main season but I imagine this place will be very nice in summer. Had nice outsides seting opportunities and a bar equipped with Belgian beers.

The Heating is miserable! If you go there in Winter, be prepared! But the location is nice and away from the crowds. So if you look for some quiet time, go there!

The best place if you want to stay off the loud areas.

Nice place to hang out - a little bit out of the way (it's over 30 mins walk to Yangshuo, and not in a super nice / interesting location either), but it's walkeable and they give you bikes free after 6pm - good to communte at night. Guess in summer this place is awesome, was a bit on the quiet side now

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good. The hostel looks very tired and needs some upkeep but rooms were good and towels were best in our travels in China.

For rock climbing it's a litle far away from many climbing walls, but it's quiet and relaxing and it's nice.

We loved everything about this hostel! The location is great. Nice and quiet outside of the main city with great views surrounding it! Plus the girls who work there are great! One of the best hostels I've stayed in!
