Nice staff, our room was like in a little flat with a living room and kitchen, which was really cool. A negative point is that there's only one shower and toilet for a lot of people. It's about 10-15 min from a mall with a supermarket inside and 20-25 min walk from the city center but there's a shuttle so it's not a real problem.

Facilities are very good. The staff is great, very helpful. Hostel is clean and overall well kept. Rooms are spacious without bunk beds. A slight downside is that it is a bit of a walk from town but they do have a shuttle that takes 5 min and runs both ways 9 times a day. Another potential downside would be that noise from the outside sitting area is rather high in some dorms at night. When I was there the noise would die out somewhere between 11 and 12 though. Overall a great stay.

This is a great hostel with lots of character. Our double room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathrooms were kept impeccably clean. The only real downside for us was that our room was at the back corner of one of the buildings and there is an outdoor common area directly below where a lot of people smoke. My husband and I are both very sensitive to cigarette smoke and did not like the smell of it wafting through the windows in our room.

So friendly!! I would recommend coming here if you are travelling alone as it is so friendly and has a great atmosphere. The best thing are the hammocks in the garden and free wifi.

Tropic Days was an awesome experience! Hands down it was the best hostel I've stayed at as far as community feel and involvement among fellow backpackers.

Amazing hostel! So relaxing, and fun at the same time. Gorgeous garden and pool, and fantastic facilities. And free WiFi that actually works! Supposed to stay for 1 night and stayed for 4.

Stayed in Room 7 (3 bed) however room 7A was accessed by our room, so technically a 7 bed room. Our room was a walkway and door often left open, plus no lockers. Any other room would be fine for security. Other downside was you had to pay for A/C. The staff were very friendly, rooms and bathroom were spotless. 2x kitchens available and a TV room. Free WI-FI and free shuttle bus into the city. The hostel had nice garden surroundings including pool and hammocks. Overall the hostel was great value.

We had a great stay at Tropic Days in a private three bed room. Bathrooms were clean and kitchen too. Free woo was really useful and the garden was great to relax in with pool and hammocks. We booked all out trips at reception as staff were really knowledgable and honest. Free bus also a god send in the heat, about 20min walk from town so v useful!

I really enjoyed my stay. The character of this hostel was very good. The staff was friendly and very.helpful. The only thing was that you have to pay for the aircon. But at least there was a fan in the room. I would always go back!

One of the most amazing hostels! For the long distance to the city you get much more common space - especially around the pool - than in other more central hostels. I was a bit disappointed that the AC was 1$ per 3 hours, the description wasn't telling that. Also Room No. 7 - the transit room - should cost less than a normal 3 bed dorm as people transit to the next room. Still, it's one of the best, if not the best hostel in Cairns!! The staff is so friendly and it feels like paradise!Book it!
