Nice rooms. Nice kitchen. A little far away.
Our stay was short, but this seems like a great place. The pay-for-service aircon was a bit of a drag, but it can't be helped. Staff were friendly and helpful and the barbq scene seemed fun. Hammocks and pool were a nice atmosphere.
Having to pay $1 for 3hrs of aircon didn't make me happy!!!!! The Very helpful staff is the only reason I wasn't miserable.
Great hostel, friendly and helpful staff, clean and with small lockers in the room for valuables. Not a party hostel but with a friendly atmosphere to get in touch with people. Location is not that great but a complementary bus service is making up for that.
Great hostel: nice and helpful staff, super cool and yummy free breakfast for Christmas. A bit too hot in the rooms but nothing the staff can do abt it.
One of the best hostels I have stayed in Australia by far. A really chilled place to stay that has a wicked homeliness about it. Good facilities, not crowded or a party hostel but with a great atmosphere. On Xmas day they put on a free awesome breakfast too. Thanks tropic days for a great stay 👍🏻
A lovely chilled out place to stay if you are looking for somewhere with a nice, relaxed vibe. Staff were helpful and happy to answer questions. It is a little bit of a distance to town hut it's an easy 30 minute walk or use the handy free minibus that runs hourly. I stayed there three times in between trips diving and to the rainforest and was happy to return each time - always a good sign. Plus, the free WiFi works very well everywhere including rooms.
A lovely, welcoming place to stay. Really helpful and friendly staff. Room 9 is quite noisy until about 10pm though, be prepared for lots going on close by to your room if you're in there. Otherwise very pleasant. Duvets, towels and individual safes provided and a storage room for larger bags if you're going on a trip too. Very nice touch offering beach towels to people going on trips to the reef !
Great atmosphere & hilarious BBQ on Monday nights
Really friendly staff

located a bit far out of the town, walking distance just a tad long but the free bus there was great and they didn't mind making more than 1 trip. bathrooms and rooms cleaned everyday which was good although don't expect to lie in as they come in shouting when cleaning the room. staff were friendly and helpful though especially when booking tours.
I love Tropic days, BBQ on monday was amazing experiance, u can see that this people really enjoy in there job wich is great to see. romms are nice and everything is so clean. Pool is a great place to chill as the 10 hammocks all around garden.
Clean and lovely hostel with super helpful staff. Only caveat is unfortunately far location :( but all else was great!
A great and cosy hostel! The cleanest one I've been to so far, with excellent customer service! It is 15 min walk from the city center of Cairns, however Tropic days offers free shuttles every hour to town!! Additionally, Tropic days arrange bbq nights and pizza nights. A really good way to get to know everyone around and the hostel! Really, a great great hostel! Would definitely come back again!

Stayed in a private room - brilliant. Try and get there for the weekly BBQ - totally worth it
Liked my stay here, so booked till the end of the week!! Staff are great always friendly, rooms are clean, showers toilets clean, nice kitchen area with plates etc to use. Nice garden area. Has transport to and from town which is handy but the walk isn't that bad either, just bring water!! Overall great place
One of my fav hostels on my whole trip! Quite cheap, cosy hostel with awesome friendly staff, relaxing pool and hammocks, attracts lovely people - bit different than the Gilligan's crowd. Staff is very helpful in booking tours. The building I stayed in looks more like a shared house than a hostel!
My partner and I are in our 60s and like staying in hostels because it is a great way to meet people. We chose Tropic Days because of it's ratings. We weren't disappointed. Our first night featured an Aussie barbecue, a great way to bring people together (Gabe is a great facilitator and entertainer) and taste some exotic Aussie fare. Can't comment on the rooms because we camped, but facilities were great. Clean, terrific tropical atmosphere with helpful, courteous staff.
We stayed twice in this hostel and in private rooms which are good and beds comfortable. They have a fridge which is handy, although in the balcony one it adds to the heat, but you can turn on the A/C for a dollar for 3 hs. The common areas are good, with some hammocks in the garden and a pool. Kitchen and bathrooms are ok. Good atmosphere, nice people running the place. A bit away from the center but they have shuttles in the morning and evening times.
