Building works all night for 2 nights running in an adjacent property

Rooms are excellent and it is value for money. Location good for shoping. Wi-fi very slow and and room fan awful, it was boiling in room

They need to make a lot of improvement to run the business. There was no sign "Tropical Inn" and I was waiting for almost a hour in front of the house, which it was closed and locked. The opposite neighbour was calling the owner to open the door for me. Only one staff available and he doesn't speak English at all. Room was very dusty and they did not change the sheet for long time. The shower was good. Free wifi. Closed to Lush Bollywood Club, Il Gellato, beach area just within walking distance

Good place to stay at and good breakfast. The security wasn't that good as the gate most of the time (daytime) stood right open and the staff often was hard to find. The hostel is close to the mainroad and to the trainstation in the area. It is quite hard to find the hostel as it don't have any signs outside the building.

A fine hostel in the middle of Colombo. Very close to Galle Road, where you can get buses, trains and tuk tuks to wherever you need to go. Helpful staff, nice hearty breakfast, a nice, clean, friendly hostel that offers the basics and succeeds in being great value for money. Great wifi too!

I wouldn't recommend this hostel.. The staff member who greeted us was totally disorganised and hadn't made up our room by the time we arrived (after midnight, and we'd informed Tropic Inn of our late check-in). The showering facilities really weren't adequate for the price we paid to stay at Tropic Inn. There was also confusion when paying as it wasn't made clear to us how much we were being charged for our taxis from the airport and the next morning. Saying this, our room was big and clean.

Simple but clean and friendly housing, with tuk tuk in 10 minutes in city center, hosts are happy to organie a taxi or cab and are really welcoming! I would recommend if you just want to have a simple place to spleep!
