Really nice staff, great buffet breakfast, lovely clean rooms and the closest place to the beach, really made our first few days in mt lavina great, defo be bac, thanks tropic inn Tom and janine, Scotland

Great staff, clean rooms and good location close to the beach.

The staff were unbelievably good, they made every effort to accommodate our needs and were so friendly. It is in a great location near the beach and very easy transport links to Colombo. Definitely would recommend and would come back again.

Very nice, helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and quite luxurious for the price! I rated security as Good instead of excellent because in the dormitory, there are lockers but they cannot be locked. That being said I felt very safe and secure none the less!

This hostel has many good points & only some bad. Its clean (and cleaned everyday), has a large bathroom (with hot&cold water), a good air con & the tv is small but has a lot of english speaking tv channels. The hostel is a little out the way but only costs 500rupees to get to the centre so its very cheap! And its beside the beach :) Its very populated but not so many cafes/good restaurants so read up before you come! Would stay again though!

Had a wonderful time during my short stay at Tropic Inn. Can recommend Tropic inn with no hesitation. Will never forget friendly and supportive staff members. If one wants to enjoy complementary breakfast (including Sri Lankan) this I suppose is the place. A couple of minutes from the beautiful Mount Lavinia beach gives the best to those who would want to enjoy sunset/sunrise at the shore. This definitely will be the choice of accommodation during my next visit to Sri Lanka. Try it out and see!

The staff are very friendly and helpful and esspecially Lashitha that fills the hotel with laughter from the heart and his good mood all day

The hostel is very clean with very helpful staff. The location, in Mount Lavinia, provides a quieter environment than downtown Colombo, but is not very practical for visiting Colombo or going shopping (one hour bus ride from Fort train station given that Galle Road is always jammed).
