They added a 15% hidden fee for "sales tax" to the amount noted on Hostelworld. No other hostel in Costa Rica that I stayed at did this. To make matters worse, they did not take credit card, like most hostels in Costa Rica. The rooms were dark and depressing, with a single window that opened out into the doorway.

This was a great hostel for the price. It's about a 5min walk to Witches Rock restaurant (our fav for brekky), and an aditional 3-5 to get you to the beginning of the strip. So not That far! If you want to skip the road theres a direct route to the beach which puts you just south of the river mouth. A great locations for surfing. Staff was super chill and helpful!

Awesome location! Just steps from surfable public beach. Rooms aren't too fancy but who spends time in their room when the beach is just across the street? Friendly, helpful staff. Perfect for beach bums on a budget.
