Two Ducks Hostel was the worst hostel we stayed at on our trip. We had booked a two bed mixed dorm and they stuck us in a 5 bed dorm. There was no hot water in the shower. The bathrooms were small and dirty and the stalls to the toilets were just over a half-wall to the kitchen, meaning that any sounds or smells could be experienced from the kitchen. No one told us about the lockout so when we returned to make lunch we were turned away. The staff was almost never there. Don't stay here.

We booked a room of 3 people and the room was of 5 people! We think that they don't have rooms for 3, but on the website it is for 3 people always. It is expensive and it is not so good. He said that it was a mistake and they refund the money of the tax in rome (2 euro per day), but we paid 23 euro/night. On the other hand, you cannot stay in the hostel during 3 or 4 hours in the morning because they clean at this time. You need to leave the hostel, you cannot stay in the reception, kitchen....

It was the worst hostel I have ever stayed. My money was stolen inside the hostel. There is no security over there and also there is no luggage room. The luggage stays in the reception and everyone can see and take your stuff. I do not recommend this hostel for everyone.

The description about room is just a joke. There is no room for two persons. The bed is very very very smelly.

From all hostels I've stayed this was the only bad one, horrible experience actually. The two guys of staff were so rude to me and my friends, there was no light in the corridor nor internet and when we asked for a reimboursement they said: Send an e-mail to this address cause we cannot help you; then we asked them for the manager's name and he was like: his name is Mikel but I don't know the last name so don't ask! ... at last they were like 'it's not our problem' so it was very bad our staying

I have to say of all the hostels I have stayed at in Rome this is by far the worst. It smelled terrible, the kitchen was filled with garbage, and when I came to the room the floors and door squeaked so loud that everytime someone woke up to go use the facilities it would wake everyone up. Not to mention that they gave me the lumpiest pillow in the world. The lock out for cleaning is a joke, I came back during the lockout to get my luggage and it was as dirty as ever: Do not stay here.

mancava il mocio per asciugare il bagno che fra l'altro necessitava di pulizie

We reserved a private room for two people and we shared with three others, no explanation, except that the owner wasn’t there and that there wasn’t another room. No hot water in the shower. There was a smell of sewage in the room. A cousin of the owner slept in the kitchen, so we couldn’t access for obvious reasons. Do not go, because prices are finally the same as other hostels (20 euros par person in a room with 5 beds), as the alleged availability of private rooms is a lie

here are the critical comments: - the webpage: http://www.twoduckshostel.com/hostels/servizi_eng.html should be changed according to the actual service the hostel provides - 4 beds in each room instead of 3 - kitchen has everything you need, but is not a warm welcoming place to hang out - i liked the balcony but i think to clean it up would make it more pleasant to hang out there - shower was giving hot and cold water, alternating every minute - no individual locker or cupboard space

Alright folks, either all who are complaining are divas or saw a side of the hostel I did not or maybe I just have low standards because I thought this hostel was just fine for what you're paying. I was expecting a "sh*thole" as I read in the reviews, but I was thoroughly impressed by what I came to. It was cozy enough, the beds are comfy and it's moreso apartment-style. It was rough sharing one bathroom with like ten other people, but manageable. They seemed pretty clean as well.

I understood when booking, that my reservation is for 1x2bed + 1x3 bed rooms. On arival it turned out, they have only 4 to 5 bed dorms. I was refunded for the advance payment, and they helped to find an other apropriate accomodation.

If you are in Rome by yourself, I only recommend this hostel for a very short stay! The 3 bed dorm is in fact a 4 bed one!

When my friend and I first booked and then read the other reviews we were pretty skeptical, but we were pleasantly surprised. The hostel is what you'd expect it to be, and the staff we met was really helpful and very welcoming. Location, although maybe a little confusing to find at first, is a very good location mainly because it is so close to Termini Station. The shower is a little tiny, but everything else was fine. It's definitely worth the money, as long you understand hostels.
