Aesthetically very well layed out and beautiful hostel. Hot showers all the time and staff were curteous but were often cold except for the guy on the night staff who was actually warm and friendly.

It's a very clean and central place, the staff isn't unfriendly, but neither overly friendly. Everything works perfectly, cut to the needs of backpacker-folk, but a bit impersonal. Liked the free tour with Harriet a lot, she's funny and knows her stuff and how to tell it without being boring.

Really liked this hostel. Nice spacious, comfortable rooms. Very clean. They organize a lot of activities so ample opportunities to get to know other travellers (thanks Pablo!). Good location can easily walk to Puerta del Sol and even museums. And if your lazy or its raining, its close to Metro too.

Very friendly reception staff. The ladies were simply very lovely, welcoming and extremely helpful. Location of this hostel is not too far off Gran Via, easily accessible from the Airport. I had no problem finding my way here. Room is just like in pictures, if not better. Really clean and well maintained. Best hostel ever! I highly recommend this hostel for a good peaceful stay in Madrid! PS: Free walking tour was amazing too. Erika (if I recall her name correctly) is such an amazing guide!

The staff were very nice and helpful--they helped us find all of the places we needed to find. The showers were clean and the rooms comfortable. The free breakfast was a great perk as well! I'd definitely recommend this hostel to a friend!

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in! The Cinema room was perfect for a lazy afternoon after a night of pub crawling. They also had a lot of activities: Tapas night, Flamenco night, biking tours, free walking tours and of course pub crawl every night. The Walking tour guide, Erica, was fun and energetic! I truly do recommend everyone to try at least one of their activities, of course it also depends on what kind of a group you get but I promise you it's a lot of fun!

The hostel is clean and new and comfortable, but staff is terrible, no hospitality. I was travelling alone and I didn't like the experience. Don't recommend.

Owner Comment (Show)
Dear Guest, We are really surprise by your comment. We do really care about our guest, as is our maximum priority. We do put all our effort in satisfying our clients, not only by explaining the hidden spots of Madrid but also helping them in anything they request (we even take the time to book for other accomodation in other cities, transportation, restaurants, etc...) Our hostel is also great for people travelling alone, thats why we organize EVERY day free activities so everyone can get along together. Of course, to meet people you need to join those activities. When it comes to amosphere and vibe, of course it's completely indiviudal what people like. I personally love the atmosphere here, and we work very hard to create a great place to meet people and enjoy the city. however, is true that we keep the dorms quite plain. There's a reason for it, we dont want our guest to spend to much time in the dorms . we want them to hang out in the common areas. Because when they do, they get to know each other, and our guest are so lovely so it whoud be a shame not to meet them In any case, thanks for your feedback as we will try harder so this does not happen again. Hope you have a great trip Best U Hostel Team

stayed on the 5th floor. thankfully lift was working. Bit slow to check-in, waiting maybe 15min. alot of scanning of documents and print outs which seemed laborous. I would stay there again. very close to metro and quite a clean hostel.

We really liked the hostel. We where with 6 girls on the girls floor. It was quite amazing there.. The room was excellent just like the showers and toilets. We have to say that the staff wasn't always really helpfull ( at the desk especially ). The event planner was the best. We enjoyed the free walking tour with Erica ( She's amazing) and the night out at the bars. We have to admit that the kitchen there isn't good. We weren't able to bake things en the fridge was to full ( kind of nasty)

Pros: clean, great bathrooms and rooms (with balconies), the cinema room is amazing, located in a really nice and quiet place but really near to everything, nice enough staff Cons: breakfast (you have to pay to get almost anything), kitchen is a bit small and you can only boil or use the oven, a bit expensive

Generally, it was good except for 'basic' breakfast. They serve 2 kinds of breakfast, one is 'basic' and the other is 'special'. Special is 3 Euros, and basic is free. But it was so 'basic' with two slices of bread, one small strawberry jam and butter, one cup of milk or orange juice. Special breakfast will be not that good, I think... It will be better to go out. There is a cinema, so you can watch movies too. It was pretty good!
