Bobby and the team at UBGuesthouse are the gems of Ulaan Baatar. Rooms are simple, comfortable and clean enough. Facilities are pretty good. For this price with free breakfast and this kind of hospitality, I couldn't ask for more.

small hostel in from some converted apartments, right near the centre of UB. it has a nice friendly atmosphere, and good staff. the interior and facilities are a little dated, but still great value for money.

Although the common space in the Hostel was limited, we all seemed to manage fine.

A good location but the staff seem to be only interested in you if you are doing a tour... Not the best social atmosphere as it's really cramped! I've stayed in a few hostel in Ulaanbaatar and this is definitely not for me

Super close to the train station and a lovely little hostel. Would stay here any time :)

Good for what you pay for. A bit cramped but good social atmosphere.

I stayed in UB guesthouse for 12 days on total, before, during and after the Naadam festival this year. The location is excellent and the staff are friendly. Great atmosphere and spotless kitchen and bathroom. Before arriving Bobby helped me with a letter of invitation and during my stay, she also helped to to get the Naadam festival tickets. I would definitely go back again and would recommend this place to anyone visiting UB.

downs: expensive tours, water in showers can be hit and miss, non of the staff speak english. ups: some of the beds are lovely soft (some are not), plenty of bathrooms to go around, really cheap dorm beds.

Pretty good. Could do with a spring clean and a good tidy. Breakfast was good, wifi was a little weak and we repeatedly had issues with our main door key but they wouldn't change the key. Free pick up from the station was a great bonus!

Can only receive Wifi signal in the common area but not in the room. Comfortable room. Clean and nice staff! But the day trip to Terelj National Park which costs USD70 max shared by 3 people was not worth-taking since only the driver and petrol were included and there was no guide.

Great location, good atmosphere, helpful staff - I would stay here again.

Hostels/Guesthouses in Ulaanbaatar are in general not that lovely. They are ok to sleep for one or two nights and to organize trips. However, in UB Guesthouse it's easy to organize trips, because many single travellers are staying here waiting for other people to join their trips. UB has lockers (I missed that in Russia) and the staff helps you, if you want to organize a trip or need to go to an embassy. The location is quite good near to the big Sukhabaar Square.

Very useful to organize tours around mongolia!

Good place to stay!
