I gave this hostel full marks this time. I've stayed at this hostel before and I enjoyed it, I liked the staff, but I had major problems with the wireless internet on my previous visit just like everyone else at that time. It seems they have got it right now and there were no problems with it at all this time. Rock on, guys. "Cat" is my fave. She totally looks out for me. But they all do. They work hard at this hostel and you get that feeling that everyone cares about the place.

Staff should be a bit more friendly

if your looking at this hostel cause youve stayed in one of the other USAhostels and loved them, look down the road to banana bungalow right now! I constantly felt like i was being ripped off at USA, they charge for all the pub crawls, no one ever offered me a free beer like in other USA hostels and the parties were none existent. some staff were amazing and others rude, didnt like their security system. if you want to go to the bath room and someones in yours already, theres no where else to go

Excellent location! Staff are nice and helpful and helped us to book a shuttle back to the airport even though it was less than 24hrs before the booking time. The rooms on the left can hear the music that comes from the club across the carpark but its not too bad. The power points in the lockers are great and the showers had good water pressure. Would definately stay here again :)

Visited during an Aussie breeding season this is another stellar addition to the USA Hostels range though it needs to play catch up with San Francisco! Good staff, always on hand in the communal facilities...the kitchen/dining area in particular seemed their favoured place to play hooky from work and lament management. Also the excellent laundry facilities ($2.50 for wash+dry) never failed to contain 2 staff members hitting on each other, I always wondered why they close it off at lunch time...

This was my first experience in a hostel (female, traveling solo). USA Hostels Hollywood was great! I would recommend to anyone. The rooms were a little hot at night (January) and it's located right next to the post office (which loads up their big trucks at about 6am..loudly) but honestly, it wasn't that bad at all. Location fantastic, easy access to metro. Security was excellent, and very clean. People were awesome. The hostel organizes lots of activities and opportunity to be social.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in.

Every good thing they say about this place is true from the great staff to a location that can't be beat. They are tough on security which gives that extra comfort level. However, I only gave an average score for facility because (although the facility itself is fine) the wi-fi is useless everywhere in the building except for a spot where everyone crams together near the soda machines. This was bad. Internet communication are extremely important for travelers. Wi-Fi signals are easy to fix.

Great staff and a great location if you are keen on checking out Hollywood. Not such a good location if you are interested in checking out Venice Beach and Santa Monica as they are about a 2 hour bus ride away. I would stay again.

USA Hostels Hollywood is great, I don't have any complains.

I have stayed in some of the best hotels and motels across the country including Hyatt etc. This, however was the best in terms of total package. The location was excellent right in between Hollywood Boulvard and the Sunset Strip, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, making it easy to get around. Great way to meet people and the tours and facilities were excellent. Very impressed

I stayed previously in USA Hostels San Francisco (same chain) and I really liked it, so I though the one in LA must have same standards of quality, but definitely not. The staff was not that helpful( the asian girl in the front desk not friendly at all),when I arrived there they gave me sheets which supposed to be clean but guess what they were full of hair and dirty, so I went back to the front desk and ask for new ones, luckily this time were clean.The location was good.

What I love most about this hostel is that they have several in-house acitivites that urge people to interact as well as head out together. That's very important for people who're travelling alone and are looking for travel buddies.

This is an exellent place. Impecably clean. Excellent location. Friendly staff. I very highly recommend it.

It's a fantastic place to make friends, have fun and a great base from which to see LA. Every night dinner is available for around $6, fun events go on in the lounge and tours are available every day to see something of interest in LA. Clean, great staff, safe and secure. I'd stay at USA Hollywood every time.

Really good place to be if you want to see Hollywood...in LA you stay where you wanna go, so Hollywood is a must, and this place has you sorted. Pancake breakfast and the cheap dinners are great. Some more vegetarian options and morning coffee would make this place even more amazing.

So friendly staff and great location. On Jan. 6th,2011,i saw Lucy LIU ! That night, the TV Show "southland" was shooting on that street ,10 meters from this hostel!

Excellent overall hostel, awesome free/cheap tours. Helpful staff and top location. Each shared dorm has a single shower/toilet which is OK but awkward when 4 people need to shower at once. Really good vibe, a beer pong table and cheap beers - what more do you want?
