Great location! We stayed at the Banana Bungalow first and moved to this hostel because they had a cheap bus transfer to their hostel in San Fran but when we got there they told us they no longer do the bus. Which was a bit annoying and messed up our plans a little. The staff were really friendly and breakfast was good. However i thought there was a better party atmosphere at Banana Bungalow.

There are no bathrooms outside the rooms. It is not pleasant to share a bathroom with 7+ people and not having an option outside the room.

Well located, very helpful staff. My dorm was close to the lounge which had music to 1am every night so found it noisy.

Good hostel. Main complaint is the lack of soundproofing - the walls are paper thin, don't expect to get a great nights sleep. But the location is great if you want to be in the centre of the tourist hub, and the staff are friendly. The privacy screen on the bed, outlet and light right at the bed, and outlet inside the locker are fantastic (don't forget to bring your lock). Clean washrooms and comfortable beds.

Stayed here twice during our two month trip. Facilities are fantastic, comfy beds, awesome breakfast, great bar and close to everything you need (buses, metro etc). The thing that really made it for us though were the staff - incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area and if they didn't know something would go out of their way to find out. Also, they remembered us from our first stay so it was like coming home!

Good hostel, good location, AMAZING atmosphere for meeting people, drinking, etc. Cons: the room and bathroom were not so clean as the rest of the hostel. I think it should get cleaned everyday. Other thing was that the laundry room was opened just from 1pm to 9pm, which is a very complicated time to be at the hostel if you want to go to a lot of places. Specially in LA that`s so huge and where takes so long to go to one place to another.

Without doubt the best hostel i've ever stayed, the atmosphere is so good, the hostel staff are all so friendly, a lot of activities are arranged, the location is so good, just on the walk of fame with metro station nearby, and the bed is comfortable and also with free breakfast.

The location is fantastic and the staff is super nice. The breakfast is awsome and you have pancackes! The cleanliness could be improved. They don't have towels (you have to rent them!), that never happened to me before in a hostel. They organise cool activities and have free shuttles to Santa Monica. It's a bit noisy on weekends.Definitely not recommended for shy travelers.

They have a room right next to the front door where they buzz people in, it's right next to the stairs where people are stomping and running up and down, and opposite the kitchen. Do not get it if you want to sleep between 2am - 8am. Also, doesn't seem like the bathrooms were cleaned often.

I thought the security was excellent, staff told you from the start that everyone had to hold their keys up before being allowed into the hostel. This made you feel secure, that none of the homeless would be allowed to stray into the hostel. The staff were friendly, and some more knowledgeable than others, but if they didn't know they would point you into the right direction. Some times they could have given a little more advice to other customers.

The private rooms are really too small and not so confortable, expecially if you pay a price similar to some hotels.
