Amazing place with a good location and friendly, helpful staff.

Pro: Party Hostel #1! Well equiped, cool people, cool stuff, right downtown. Contra: Far away from the beach. Go to Pacific Beach, if you wanna have party and be by the beach.

Please do not put a staff who does not know well ahout the ways to get to famous tour sights in the reception desk. When I checked in, the manager was so kind and she knows well around there. However, the guy who worked at night did not. When I asked something, then he always answered, "Sorry, I don't know."

An excellent hostel. Organise activities most evenings, good location, well thought out dorm rooms, if I was to be picky I would say the shower good be better. A top notch hostel!

A great great hostel! You should definetly go here. Located downtown in the middle of all bars and clubs. Staff is amingly friendly and fun. Hostel is clean, and looks from the inside, as well from the outside great! Furthermore, rent a beachcruiser bike and cycle to the beaches. Life's is perfect in San Diego!

I stayed in a mixed 4-bed dorm (which ended up just being guys anyway). The room was fine, bed comfortable, bed linen clean, bed pods offered some privacy and light inside them a great idea, bathrooms and communal areas clean and tidy, staff friendly and knowledgeable, people fun. I would definitely recommend staying here, and though I did my own thing rather than go on the social events organised, they seemed a lot of fun. Great location, and easy to get to from airport and bus station.

Funny that this should be the first e-mail in my in box; was signing on with the sole intention of writing a review of my experience at USA Hostel San Diego. I am 51 yrs old and this was my first hostel experience ever. I went with some trepidation, but that was quickly replaced by complete satisfaction. My experience was more than I could have hoped for. The staff was most friendly and helpful, the environment cleaner than my standards which are high, the location superb, and the price perfect

Stop reading this review and just book up. Fantastic, clean, well organised party hostel right in the heart of the fantastic bustling Gaslamp district, and a short walk from Broadway Pier and the trolley and bus routes out to the beaches/Mexico. This is my second time in just over a year at this hostel and I'm more gutted to be leaving the second time. Meg is a fantastic host and motivator for everyone to have a tip top time. Book now, you won't regret it!

This is a clean, well kept hostel. The staff were helpful and the only issues we had were minor. The showers dont seem to mix the hot and cold water, so its either boiling or freezing. This would be a brilliant hostel with a little outside space, unfortunately it leads right onto a busy street which can be noisy, but if you get a room at the back its fine. I really liked the place.
