I love the fact that we have some privacy while sleeping, because of the bed, and that the showers are in a room and you can close the door and take a shower, since I don't like curtains. The location was perfect, there were lots of places to eat and go out at night near there. Since we were there with a car, the closest parking was like 5 minutes walking and was 10 to 15 dollars each night. Also, the staff was very nice and helpful. I recommend this hostel.

The hostel was great! Rachel at reception was great to talk to and very helpful. My only suggestion is that the hostel needs a Barbados flag and blueberries for pancakes.

Music in the entrance/stairs should be lower at 8am. The music was quite loud at 8am and we regularly woke up from it.

Very good location for budget traveller.. The breadfast is good and bathroom very clean. I like the decor of the hostel. However, the lamp and window frame in the room are dusty. The bedsheet is smelly. Would be better if seperate bathroom for male and female.

Staying at USA Hostel in San Diego is definetily the best choice if you are looking for fun, great people and a very nice place to stay. The neighboorhood has the best options to go out or even to just have dinner.

This place is awesome! Met so many cool people from all over the world. They plan activities and really make you feel at home. I had a private room which was lovely, but I also saw the regular dorms which had these cool privacy covers with built in lights and sockets in each bunk. The location was great as it was right in the middle of the gaslamp with awesome restaurants and bars. Bus stop is right around the corner to take you to the beaches, zoo, etc. You guys rock! Love from Jersey

It was my first time at a hostel. I wasn't too sure about how safe it would have been prior to booking my stay but I felt completely safe and the staff was excellent! It was one of the best, "housing", experiences I have honestly ever had! The location was great, and the people I met made it a great place to stay! My opinion of hostels, this one in particular, has now made this a preferred way to go in terms of travelling and accommodations! Thank you!

Had a great time, only there for 1 night, buy wish it had been longer . Staff super cool. Breakfast was awesome, and I absolutely adored the large windows in the rooms, and how light and airy it was.

Very nice place--clean, convenient, lots of character, friendly staff, yummy breakfast. The only thing I didn't like was that the bathroom sinks only dispense cold water. (The showers, though, have ample hot water.)

It was really great to stay HI San Diego. Breakfast was good and the staffs were really kind and helpful. Although it is a bit noisy at night, the location can't be better than here. I stayed here for 3 days and also stayed usa hostel which is close to Hi hostel. Personally, I recommend HI if you look for better breakfast and newer facilities.
