An ok hostel, well located and with friendly staff. The lift is a complete joke and not manageable when there is just one of you with a heavy bag. The hostel seems to be mainly frequented with drunk, noisy, European teenagers so if this isn't the sort of crowd you like to mix with then you're better off paying a bit more and going somewhere more upmarket.

Great hostel and a great location. I did not really like the staff though. Because this is such a huge hostel, I had the feeling that they treated me like a number. I would appreciate it if the staff would give me a roundtour through the hostel for instance.

This is a very clean, well equipped and well located hostel. The room set ups (lights, powerpoints, shelves and screens at each bed) were all well thought through, the kitchen was very well equipped and common areas very nice. Wifi worked very well. Bring a big padlock however as this is necessary for the lockers to lock and the ones they sell are poor quality and all have the same keys.

Nice enough hostel, pros: location was good, lots of activities organized. Cons: The pillows were terrible, not enough showers/toilets got # of beds, pancake breakfast was impractical (long queue to make them), no cereal at breakfast. Some staff were quite rude and knew very little about SF, plus they double booked beds in our room a few times during our stay, but most were pretty good.

The location is very good, a lot of things closer, the staff were willing to help. Just the shower wasn't that good and the bathrooms are too small.

Apart from the fact that, yes it does smell like nappies in the hallways - its super clean, super friendly and overall is a great, well organised venue. Its close to a sketchy area of downtown san fran, which staff marked out for us. The wifi worked well and I met loads of friendly people at the organised pub crawl and other events. I loved my four days here in a dorm, I didn't sleep for four days thanks to partying in the Castro. I'll be back!

I have stayed in many hostels in my lifetime, but this was by far the best hostel experience I have ever had. My boyfriend and I had a 4bed mixed dorm. We felt secure at all times, the lockers that they provide are huge and good quality. There are always cleaners working on the bathrooms and hallways. The location is just a short walk from market street and union square, which makes for a very convenient stay. Overall, I would stay at this hostel many times over if given a chance to.

They have a cinema in the basement next to the common area where they serve free popcorn and have kareoke nights. It was free wine and cheese one night. Breakfast is amazing and honestly... Best hostel I've ever been to. The beds are amazingly comfy and you feel private coz it has a seperation thing at the head. They have a light and an outlet at your bed and 2 outlets in your locker. They have free shampoo in their clean showers. Free tours for san fran! Awesome girl! Love this place!

Well run. clean hotel with 4 bunk beds /room at $40 per night very profitable, as well..the kitchen is very well designed with at least 4 sinks for washing dishes, spaced by drying stations, the stoves are arranged in an L shape, with an island in the middle, very well designed to accommodate many people comfortably...many international young people in the dining area give it a European feel. Free internet with your own computer, but not so cheap by the hour in the computer room.

A good choice of hostel when staying in San Francisco. Clean rooms and felt secure. Easy walk to Union Square and plenty of transport. Great to have free breakfast available too.

The location was great, really central, the room was big and no matter how much noise was made outside, you didn't hear it in the room which is great. Everyone who was there though, was there to party...hard! There were drunk people everywhere at all times. They were rude, extremely loud and the staff did nothing about it. I had one guy throw up on his bed in my room waking me up. Most disgusting hostel experience i've ever had, it's completely put my bf and I off hostels for good!

Weather just passing by (like me), or staying for some more, you'll definitely enjoy it. If going back, I'd surely try to stay there.
