Good number of showers, Toilets. Like the sink in mixed dorm. Kitchen was big. Breakfast was good. Clean. Great location. Didn't participate in the free dinners but sounds lots of fun for those who like to join the tours and activities.

This isn't one of those hostels you'd enjoy staying in if you're older than maybe 22 (though there are a lot that are -- the YHA in Fisherman's Wharf is one). It was incredibly noisy at all hours -- even right outside my door. Having Thurs night karaoke in the basement is just cruel. Though staff were very helpful with directions and any questions I had, and the breakfast was way above average. I'd say if you're in town solely to drink and party, it's perfect. But next time I'll stay elsewhere.

I prefer to use stairs than the lift. I love each bed has its own plugs and lamp, you could also find inside the locker.

This hostel was very good: clean, never had to wait for a shower or bathroom, great breakfast options with fruit which is rare and all the staff were great, with the exception of one who just had a bit of an attitude. Kim was great, and her pub crawl was well worth it!! We loved it here, sad to leave!!

Clean and walking distance to the city central. Nice but The locker in the room did not work properly with my locks. I had to purchase one from the front desk. Security other then this was good hostel to stay.

This youth hostel is definitely too big. For such huge youth hostel it should be necessary to increase support and activities to promote contact between people.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. My only suggestions would be for the hostel to offer free computer terminals for Internet (with a time limit of course) so that they could be on par with other hostels in the area.

My flight was delayed getting out of Wi. I called 3 times, (once I hung up/on hold) using the 415 phone # 3-25-13 3:57pm & 11:10pm (cst)Informed reserv I was coming as soon as I could get flight restated to San Fran. IN 2 CALLS NO ONE at USA made a note, comment, or anything. As another fu I emailed 3-26 5-19am (Pst) informing I will be there that aftn. When I got there, the first thing kid said to me is your reservation is cancelled. I said you got to be nuts. (No I'm sorry/must be mistake)

I could not take a shower because it was only too hot water or too cold water. Terrible.

Once you get past the smells of the hostel, it's actually a pretty good stay. There were lots of toilets and showers on the floor, and free breakfast and Wi-Fi is definitely a plus.

Perfect. I really liked this hostel. Facilities were nice, and staffs were excellent. They were kind and informative. Atmosphere is also very good. Travelers can easily hang out in the party room. The location is nice. It is very close to Union Square so that you can enjoy a lot of stuffs around the square until late night. I will definitely stay here again if I have an opportunity to travel San Francisco later.

Follow the description how to get there, those are the most secure streets at night in the area!
