Awesome hostel in great location, receptionist was a bit unwelcoming on arrival but other than that can't fault this place. The bar down stairs is absoloutley rocking at the weekend they have a big fridge where u can keep your alcohol and drink it in their kitchen/pool room area.

This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. And I feel like the San Fran location is the best among the three chain USA hostels I stayed in. The other two are in LA and San Diego. Great facilities downstairs! Large kitchen and dinning room and there is even a bar and a movie room. Activities are great for meeting people and having a good time!

I cannot recommend this hostel highly enough . The staff are amazing , not to mention the place is clean and breakfast is provided . When you are travelling money is tight so having that free breakfast really helps. The pub crawl I went on run by ed was one of my best nights in the usa . Brian's walking tour was also a highlight ( even on a hangover ). If you visit San Fran defiantly stay at this hostel . You won't regret it .

One of the best hostels i've stayed at. The atmosphere is great with plenty of hostel activities to help you see the sites of San Fransisco. The facilities are amazing even including a theatre room! The staff were friendly and the place was clean. All good :)

Wish the staff had more activities to get people to interact better. The chairs in the common room are pretty uncomfortable. Bunks are flimsy. But not too bad.

The facilities in the room are very appropriate, and are very comfortable to use. It holds different activities and trips for the travelers through which you can meet new friends. The location is excellent, next to the great brunch cafe and shopping places, my hands were full every night when I stay there.

Stayed here years ago, and the current state of this hostel is a pleasant surprise! Seems to have undergone a face lift on interior design and facilities are all clean, efficient, functional, and accommodating. The staffs were pleasant, and the location of course is desirable. Will definitely return here, especially now that the hostel had upgraded itself to a very comfortable and stylish place while still is reasonable in pricing.

The hostel is really good! People are friendly, facilities are clean and useful, a lot of activities (although I haven't attended to any). It is very central, close to Powell station, Market street and the tram station. The breakfast is ok, although it could have more options. I just didn't like that people should wash their own dishes. Not that I care washing, but I don't know if other people do it carefully. Dirty dishes is not cool!

This was of the best hostels I have ever been to, with very convenient public transit and a myriad of extra benefits from tours and a great kitchen to a bookable airport shuttle. It is cool, well maintained and very secure though the outside can appear intimidating when there are people chatting outside the hostel. It is near Tenderloin but not half as bad as I was expecting. There needs to be more showers though. Everything else was pleasant and fun! I will definitely recommend and return!

I liked the kitchen, amazing theater, smallish library, but the staff, as always, were: fun, friendly, helpful, courteous and kind. Breakfasts are always fun and the best place to meet people and have good conversations. Thank you Hostel!!

You need to tell people the same time to come back for check in. I came in a little later as suggested and all of the lower bunks were gone. Impresed with the Free Drinks Saturday. Not so much with the breakfast and the setup for dishwashing. Can get pretty crowded around the sinks and the sponges got pretty gross after a while.

location is good, walking distance to union square, actually I've walked to there every morning. breakfast is simple but enough. if its bit late, there was not enough seats and I had to eat at sofa though. the panel was good to at least I could turn on my own little light. but if there's curtain at bed it'd be so much better I booked 4nights out of 7 nights in sf but stayed 3nights and moved to other hotel just becoz..maybe I'm not hostel type;;

This hostel is located right in the downtown San Francisco which makes it a great place to stay while staying close to all the action. Most of the places are walkable from the hostel like Market street, ferry building, AT&T Park etc etc. The hostel basement has a good atmosphere for party people and they offer tons of free activities and events every other day. This place is really fun to stay!! Thanks for such a fantastic stay!
