This was one of the best hostels i've ever stayed in. A great atmosphere, you can meet people here because of the large kitchen and seating area outside. The owner and the staff were great people, nice to be around and very helpful. The location was spot on, if the weather is nice you can just walk everywhere and if not it is 2 mins to reach the subway, bus etc. i loved staying at this hostel, it was as comfortable as a hotel, as comfortable as home.

One of the cleanest hostel i've seen in Bucharest, great location,5min only from metro station. The only minus is the noise you can hear from next room, but its not so omportant compare to the all points. The kitchen is also large and comfortable. Thank you.

This was our first stay at Umbrella Hostel and we were in the 8-person mixed bunk room just off the main entrance on the ground floor. The beds were comfortable and shared bathrooms were clean. The kitchen was good and staff were helpful. We had no problems with the WiFi and there is even a computer available for guests. Easy walk to the historic district of the city as well as the Parliamentary Palace. Owner Val was very nice; single girls should be careful with Anthony, a bit of a horn dog.

This is probably one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. Umbrella hostel is located in the center of Bucharest, close to a Metro station and the train station Gara de Nord. The atmosphere of the hostel is really pleasant, international and clean. There are enough bathrooms. showers and toilets for the guests which is very important for me. The two owners of the hostel were very friendly and took their time to help all the guests. I would definitely always come back to Umbrella hostel.

Umbrella hostel was a clean, comfortable place to say with a good location to explore many different parts of Bucharest. The staff were extra friendly and helped us out with any requests - even driving us to the bus station to avoid needing a taxi. Would definitely recommend.

This is such a lovely hostel; fantastic rooms, great breakfast, and a nice 15 min walk to the historic section of Bucharest. The staff were so nice, the owner even gave us a few lei when we realised we wouldn't have enough for the taxi ride to the bus station. Definetly one of the best hostels I've evere stayed in

Very nice hostel in the centre of Bucharest. Its location is excellent to walk into the old town, but also a walk to the big recreational park along the embassies is easily done by foot. The staff is very nice and helpful to show you the best places in town; and it was no problem to check in halfway the night because of a late flight. The accommodation is simple but clean (good, hot shower), and has a nice shaded patio: ideal during hot days.

The hostel is located near the french embassy and there are everything you need (like supermarket, exchange office, bank, etc.) in the near neighbourhood. Even known spots in Bucharest are reachable by walking like the restaurant and bar streets of Lipscani. The hostel is tidy and has a modern look direct out of an IKEA advertise. The kitchen has everything you need and breakfast is included in price as well. Staff is very friendly and helpful in all requests and had a good sense of humour.

very nice hostel. one staff member had the most british/sarcastic sense of humour ive ever seen in a romanian. Still not sure if it made the hostel better or worse

Really great hostel. Beds were big and comfortable. Decent location between the train station and the centre of the city. I'd definitely stay here again.

We stopped in Bucharest only for one night and the city didn't impress us very much. Therefore umbrella hostel was a little gem, quiet in a side street with lovely yard to sit outside under trees. Everything was clean and new such as the very comfy beds which were handmade by the owner and his father. Good breakfast and lovely hosts. Highly recommended.

Best hostel I've ever stayed in – more like a hotel! Absolutely excellent.

After having a rough start to my day, what a wonderful turn of events to arrive at Umbrella Hostel! Not only was the space it self spacious and cheery, but the staff bent over backwards to make me feel at home and to help me with a slight injury (that rough start). The beds were comfy and the lockers large and secure. The only slight issue is that the shower and bathroom facilities are a little limited - not an issue when the hostel isn't full, but might be when it is. Definitely will return!

Hostel was very clean and secure. Not to far to walk from Bucharest Nord station. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Excellent location within easy reach to all sites of interest and transit. The beds are very spacious and comfortable, the rooms clean, and a very well-equipped kitchen primed for cooking. Overall, the hostel has a comfortable, modernist look-and-feel straight out an Ikea catalog, accompanied with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great base for those in groups; though it's likely solo travelers might find a cozier place if looking to socialize/meet other travelers.

Only stayed at Umbrella for one night, as I was catching a flight out of Bucharest at 6am and arrived at 6pm the night before. Great recommendation from Phillip on what to see and where to eat in my few precious hours. Walkable to the Old City, walkable from the train station. Rooms were clean, provided a free locker and free reading lamp. Would stay again if I make it back
