Not a bad place to stay, but not much character. The room I was in was tiny, with six beds crammed in but only four lockers. Good kitchen, and excellent movie room.

The building was damp and mouldy. There were buckets catching leaks from the ceilings. In the 12-bed dorm I stayed in, there was no window to open to let fresh air in. The beds were noisy and uncomfortable. The MDF lockers could have been prised open with a toothbrush. There were no locks available. The staff, including the manager, were rude and unhelpful. They had a bad attitude towards Irish people. Someone in my dorm stole my swipe card, probably to claim the $20 deposit I paid for it.

Long Term backpackers are Messing the rooms up and totally poor in cleaning anything! It's look like there claiming more rights than people who are staying short.

Well, as for here: Of the 3 staff members we met, 2 were very unethused, 1 was fantastic (retired Aussie bloke, top!). The room was tiny and not very welcoming but for the money it was okay. It's nicely located.

it was a pretty good hostel, bathrooms were really nice and staff friendly. but the atmosphere was awful. it's full of irish workers who give you the stink eye in all the public places. drinking in the bar was horrible, we had our free drink and went elsewhere.

Very dirty property, bedding was smelly and someone had urinated in the hallway. Checked out the following morning because it was so bad.

Lots and lots of Irish people. Free sausage sizzle every day is nice, the pool is cold but refreshing, the cinema-room is awesome on boring days. 24h reception is good, staff could be friendlier though... It is noisy in the rooms (a lot of drunk inconsiderate people) and it is pretty damn expensive, but the hostel is not bad.

The baggage area wasn't lockable so all your bags were out for everyone to see It was mostly clean but they had a bug problem while I was there, cockroaches yuk! Most of the staff were lovely just the first guy I spoke to was rude.

Didn't really got a welcoming feeling from the girl behind reception who seemed to be really bored with her job. The room was alright (good big locker and fine mattress, but REALLY messy (girls dorm with only long termers. Showers could also be cleaned more often. Kitchen was big and lots of table space, but the 'free breakfast' was a laugh... they did not even provide milk to go with the cereal, basically there was bread with jam... Good location, but hostel had an overall messiness about it.

A sympathetically-restored old building in Northbridge that has all the mod cons: bar, pool, internet cafe, and new shiny bathrooms. It's a bit cliquey with working holiday-makers, though, and the booming tannoy announcements make you feel a bit like you're in prison.

Not enough lockers in the room, the showers are very dirty and close to the toilets.

Very well maintained and refurbished hostel, nice bathrooms and dorm rooms (with a/c everywhere!). Great poolarea. The kitchen is really big, with heaps of storage room (fridges are a bit too full), very clean and has everything you need, even two oven! The staff will answer your questions, but is very unfriendly. Most of the people are longstayers who like to party very very loud on weekends. But overall a good hostel to recommend!
