We had booked a private room and the staff checked in another man to our room while we were out for the day, come back to find a man laying in my bed and his stuff everywhere and my stuff had been pushed to the side. Went to the reception and they promptly sorted this out and gave us separate rooms and apologized. Other than this the experience at underground backpackers was great.

The best thing about this hostel were the room mates we were lucky to have - we really did well! The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are clean...the shower is also really good which can be rare in a hostel. However the reception we got from the staff upon arrival was just down right rude. But as far as hostels go it is clean and the atmosphere is good. It is slightly overpriced but that can be blamed on the FIFO workers!

The staff is brilliant, facilities clean and rooms secure with keycards and lockers. There is only few little concerns. You have to hire your dishes and cutlery, but there is not enough for everyone. Though, they have free breakfast, so this was quickly forgotten. Also I had an issue with being placed in different type of the room than I have book. Male or female? It does not seem to matter here. Anyway, I would come back if I was going to Perth again.

If your a non drinker don't bother

The hostel is near all kinds of nightlife in the. North bridge area which is the place too be. I booked with hostelworld for two guests but we got seperate rooms its not on them but hostelworld. But the lady at the front desk was awesome she called a lot of times to get a shuttle booked for me to the airport. It's my second time staying at this hostel.

Great Atmosphere at the hostel,had a great time it was a shame that the bar closed around 22;00hours. The bunkbeds where a bit hard to get in to if you had the topbed

It would be great if you could improve by offer more bathroom close to each end of rooms and offer better service in your kitchen by suppling fridge and break fast self serve dispenser like sugar,coffee ,tea ,butter,bread and milk. In general it's a perfect place to relax and meet different people to talk. I love it nice. Regards Louis

Underground Backpackers is just the dirtiest, ugliest and most filthy hostel I've ever been to. I'm sure there are many that are a lot worse, but this one was definitely the worst I've ever been to - and I've stayed at about 30 hostels so far.

A warm welcome...I think not! The staff (both AM & PM shifts) were unhelpful, unfriendly and their attitude and lack of attention to customers was bordering on rudeness. The room was acceptable but the bathrooms were in need of a clean. Breakfast is included but you need to bring your own milk if you require cereal (that's a first)?! Centrally located but will never go back.
