The hostal would have been OK but the bathrooms and self messing areas had not been cleaned. Toilets had not been cleaned in three days, no paper in toilets and blood and mess everywhere in toilets. Self messing area was not fit to use, it was just too un hygienic. It was a busy weekend in the city but this should not stop basic cleaning up. I also understand it is us the guests who should respect the facilities and thought who mess it up should be charged for the mess it was left in

Fabulous location in terms of position in the city, terribly located in terms of it is at the bottom of the most gigantic hill in the world... and then there is another hill down into the city that is bigger, so you get a real work out. I feel fitter for it though, would definitely stay there again, and the landscape of Auckland is similar to San Francisco, hills everywhere, so if you have to deal with the hills anyway, definitely stay here.

The staff could offer a welcome, ie offer a map of the town or even engage more than "here is your key", I understand they may be students working over summer but inter personnel skills are actually more important than a degree.

A really good no-frills single room option for an Auckland visit.

Wi-fi is included in the stay, which is great bonus. Staff very friendly.

All good. Maybe some more dishes in the dining/kitchen area for people to use.

It's a univiersities dorm, brand new. Awesome rooms, huge and comfortable, shared baths, wifi available. Best place to stay in Auckland in summer because of enormous value for the money you pay.

You have to be fairly self sufficient. There is a shared kitchen area with a kettle and a fridge and a toastie maker but no cutlery or crockery which meant for me the microwave wasn't an option - camping stuff tends to be metallic!

Sure, it's a university hall most of the time, so it's not going to have all the usual amenities. But I did think it would have better internet connection. They say they have a kitchen, but what the mean is a microwave, sandwich press, and electric kettle, and someone had stolen all the dishes on my floor. One of the workers was friendly, another had no interest in helping me. They didn't have change for my payment in the morning, and still charged me a percentage to use a credit card!

It was perfect ! Have nothing to say !

To expensive mon-fri, but it was a great deal for a weekend. Nice, clean, quiet and the staff was all good. No one complained if you checked out a little later than 10. It was all good.

Amazing facilities, friendly staff and such a reasonable price! The free brekky was tasty and such a great perk! Would definitely recommend to all. Comfy bed, free wifi and heaps of space.
