First off, the 'how to arrive' directions posted on hostelworld.com helped us a lot, because before finding them we basically had no clue how to get from the airport to downtown Montevideo. The location of Unplugged Centro can't be beat. It's only blocks from Tres Cruces, the main bus station, and a quick and cheap bus ride takes you right into the historical center of the city, Ciudad Vieja. The facilities are basic but clean, and the staff at the front desk were super nice and helpful.

Was asked to leave 100% review by staff upon checkout, as was everyone else before me. Staff friendly, helpful. Shower didn't drain properly, shutters on windows did not close properly, lots of street noise. Breakfast was good, with apples, oranges, bananas in addition to bread and cereal. Rooms were much more spacious than others I've stayed in. Kitchen was functional/well-supplied. Location was good, a bit far from center but close to bus station.

Our stay at the Unplugged Hostel was just perfect in every sense ! You have to try Artur's "asado" with some delicious red wine from uruguay and meet nice people from all over the world !! The location was also very good as you can reach everything by foot. If you're planning to go to Montevideo I definitely recommend the Unplugged Hoste as first choice!!!

But the facilities aren´t that good. The lobby isn´t cozy. And the kitchen is very small. Definitely they could take more of the cleanliness and organization. In my bedroom there were a kitchen that was used as a deposit The good points are: - the staff is very nice and helpfull. One of them is a magician and it was very fun - the location is in a quiet neighborhood and it´s in the middle of the two most important sights: downtown and Pocitos

The hostel is in a great location for making the most of my visit to Montevideo. The accomidations were better than expected and the kitchen had everything I needed. The staff provided many suggestions and Arturo made it a priority to always organize something fun, even staying late to make us a delicious dinner and plan other activites. The rest of the staff was wonderful, especially Eugenia who was patient with my Spanish and Nico who never failed to make me laugh.

Unplugged Centro was by far the best hostel I've ever stayed in. I believed the price to be unbeatable given the cleanliness of the facilities, all of the amenities that were included, and the variety of activities. The staff fosters an amazing environment where spontanteous salsa dancing and delicious meals together are a way of life. I truly enjoyed and appreciated everything, from Sergio's magic tricks to Martin's guidance while I looked for an apartment. Thanks for the memories, everyone!

The hostel is very good and well located, near the Tres Cruces bus station, about 10 minutes on foot. Ideal for those who will visit other cities as well as Montevideo, and need to catch a bus. The staff is great, always available to give information that you need. Special thanks to Arturo for the tips on how to get the game Peñarol vs Danubio in the Jardines del Hipodromo stadium. If I return to Montevideo, I'll stay at the hostel again without doubt.

Very friendly staff, knowledgeable, helpful. Nice and big room with balcony and private bathroom. Good location if you have to catch a bus at Tres Cruces early in the morning, otherwise a little far from the center.

It was my first time in Montevideo and unfortunately I had only one night to stay. I was so lucky to stay in this hostel as I met Artur from the staff, who took many of us to a local condombe. The rooms were comfy and nice. Experiencing the local taste in one night was a great! Thank you Artur!

I really liked this hostel. It´s a great location close to the bus station, and it´s very easy to get to the centre of town on a bus or walking. The staff are really nice and very helpful. Arturo was great in recommending me things to do and involving me in what the hostel were doing. It´s very easy to meet other travellers here, which is great being a solo traveller. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.
