Besides of the 20 minute walk to the nearest Metro station and the chaotic welcome (room wasn`t ready at 11 pm), I had a very good time in Buddha Hostel. Nice kitchen, good WiFi, pretty garden, chill TV room, spacious dorms, lockers, hot showers, close to supermarkers etc. The twin brothers of reception are really nice. One of them even went out to buy paper to print out my bustickets very last minute. There is a lack of power outlet in the dorms though.

It's in a nice area with some good restraunts but a bit far from the main bars if you want to party. The metro is about a 15 minute walk and it costs about 10, 000 in taxi to get to the main strip. I would recommend if you are looking to relax and sight-see rather than party..

Great place! I stayed 3 years ago at the Secret Buddha hostel in Itagui (south of Medellin) so I trusted the new hostel alike and I was not disappointed. The place is great, no in el Poblado that's true, but still quite well located in a safe and nice centered area. The staff of the hostel is really helpful. The hostel has a garden to chill and relax, internet works perfectly. The dorm beds are comfortable and everything gets cleaned on a daily basis. Thanks Buddha team! I will come back!

Urban Buddha Hostel was great to stay! Relaxing environment in a safe neighbourhood. Staff is friendly and helpful, the hostel is clean and the beds are good. There is a great garden where you can hang around for hours chatting to fellow travellers and the kitchen is well equiped. Could recommend it to everyone, good value!

Really nice hostel, beautiful building. Staff are helpful especially the owner who'll give you loads of advice for Medellin and Colombia. In a neighbourhood area so a bit away from the centre and other hostels but still great once you figure out the metro system (essential), nearest station is 10min walk

I stayed in the Urban Buddha for two and a half weeks while searching for a flat in Medellin, and cannot recommend it highly enough. The hostel is peaceful, friendly and relaxing. You can sleep at night as it is not a party hostel, but at the same time it attracts good people to explore the city and nightlife with. The staff are fantastic; friendly, welcoming, helpful and fun. This area is better than Poblado if you want to experience a more realistic side of the city, and I felt safe here.

Beds were comfortable but the dorms had no ventilation or fan. Kitchen had lots of space. The front desk gentleman didnt seem like he knew too much about his city . Though we were told the s owing area was at the back it was ever enforced and you were breathing in smoke while eating dinner. Very close to the supermarket and good space.

The place is cute, though we were confused about it's location versus the Secret Buddha. We would have liked to have been in a more urban and less residential area. Our room was off the garden and had beautiful artwork. It was loud pretty late into the night unfortunately. Probably wouldn't stay at this location again. Good breakfast!

The hostel is on a really good location on the city, is clean and cheap. Has enough bathrooms for all the guests which avoids congestions. The only bad thing was that due an accomodation issue by the host we had troubles with another guest as we crashed in his bed according to the host instructions. The big room is kind of crowded and gets hot. Everything else is great, beer, nice backyard and good hosts.

Very relaxing hostel in a beautiful quiet area of Medellin. My partner and I stayed in the Azul room for a week and it was the first hostel we'd stayed at that felt like 'home'. The beds were super comfy and the rooms were beautifully decorated. The hostel has a very relaxed vibe (no huge party's) and everyone staying and working there were a pleasure to be around. The kitchen is great if you like to make your own meals and the courtyard outside is very peaceful and ambient. Highly recommend it

Very social hostel. Interior features lots of curiosities. Great wifi that also works in the upstairs dorms. Hostel seems to be mainly run by volunteers. That really adds to the social factor of the hostel, but makes the hostel less of a source of information for traveling in Colombia, since they don't know much more than you will know yourself...(Fair warning) Location is not ideal, walk to metro is about 20/25 minutes. But for having a great time with other travellers, highly recommended!

I would definitely recommend Urban Buddha Hostel. It is a place where you can meet very nice people, chill out and go to very fun parties, if you want to. If not, you can have a good and quiet time at the hostel as well. The staff is amazing, the kitchen in huge and well equipped and it is close from many places to eat and from the metro line too.

Nice chilled relaxed hostel with good kitchen and hang out spaces. 15 minute walk to metro station. Nice area to stay in- two supermarkets close by and plenty of restaurants within a block.

A really cosy place. Makes you feel like staying at a friends house. Perfect for getting some rest in crazy Medellin. Staff is lovely. It's a little bit off the main attractions and the metro but therefore in a really nice neighborhood.

By far our favorite hostel in the 3 months we've been traveling! Very friendly staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. They'll help you figure out fun things to do around the city and will even help coordinate with hostels in other cities to make your travels go more smoothly. Great kitchen and tv room. There is art and ornate sculptures as well, which creates a really cool atmosphere. The owner even organized a flamenco night with dancers and everything! A must stay in Medellin!

Probably the best hostal ive stayed in on my 4 month south american adventure. chilled atmosphere, great facilities. you wont be dissapointed. situated in Laureles, a very safe and modern neigjbourhood. Close to supermarkets and of course crepes and waffles!! martin and the team were very informative and made you feel at home. The impromtu flamenco music from friends on my final night was a highlight of my trip. Cheers Urban Buddha!
