Huge Hostel, whch is lead like a Hotel. Unfortunately, very anonymous and very cold staff at the reception. But the guy from breakfast is very nice and helpful. All people stay a long time, and so it is very difficult to get to know ech other. Rooms ar clean and quiet, but the doors are very noisy. All in all, a good hostel to explore the city, but not to get a real "hostel-feeling"...

This hostel had a lot of long term stayers so it was hard to meet other travelers, however had a really friendly atmosphere. The common areas on each floor did not have enough furniture and would fill up very quickly. The bathrooms were kept very clean but the kitchen was very dirty. Average breakfast. Overall a really good hostel, with a good bar that is conveniently located near the city. I would recommend this hostel to people going to Melbourne. Great value for money.

Alwasy stayed here when in Melbourne. close to the casino and only 10min walk to Central station. Trams only 2min walk! Something happening at the bar everynight!

Fixing the heater shouldn't take a week. This hostel has no character.

Decent location, walking distance to everything although is a bit out of the way if yo want to return once or twice during the day. Staff was fairly friendly, and always ready to help when you had q's regarding the city. My room had boogers on the wall. Otherwise it was clean and secure. Large kitchen is great, and lockers in room was a huge bonus! But the rooms without the windows are a pain as people are always having to turn on lights when others are sleeping.

On the bright side, the rooms are very clean and the location is fantastic. On the down side, It is pretty big and impersonal. A lot of the people are staying long-term, so it isn\\\'t very social. The showers are no good - I had a couple of very lukewarm showers. Get up early and get the hot water!
