I don't even understand why such places exist, and especially in the safe and clean Singapore. This place is filthy, unhealthy, the shower is a box where people also do poo and pi; we got sick because the receptionist (or owner) was sick and sleeping in the 6 dormitory with us and wasn't even bothered to wear a mask to prevent her cold and cough to be spread. She was the most rude person I have ever met in Singapore. Singapore Government please shut down this filthy hostel.

The manager was a complete tool She didn't want to give me a key for the room, her point being rooms stay unlocked at all times!! she started to hit my laptop screen when she couldn't figure out how to set up the wi-fi. She didn't want food or drnk being brought into the hostel, but there were no food/drink sources in the hostel. as long as she wasn't about, the stay was fine!!

Dirty, hard to find, old and cramped. Cramped rooms with squeaky bunks. No sign outside, sign is on inside of stairwell. Had a guy in our room that hadnt washed for quite awhile and aircon circulated his lovely smells all night, while another guy all he had to do was move his arm and the entire bunk make a huge creak which went on all night. You pay for what you get and this place is the cheapest of the lot. Dont expect much. On plus side its about 100m from a MRT station.

I called the boss before I stay, ask if I can deposit my luggage there for free? The boss promise me. But when I got there, the staff told me "No." So that I give up the room. The staff's attitude is really rude.

For what you pay, this really is a good hostel, clean rooms, literally 1minute from the MRT on the same line as the airport. Free wifi, can't really use the kitchen to cook properly but stand food in Singapore is so good and cheap anyway you don't need it! The doors to rooms are rarely locked but there are individual lockers in the rooms for valuables Will definitely go back on my next trip!

A budget hostel in Geylang, good for 1-2 nights. Little space, tiny common room, nothing to do there but sleep. No toilet paper in WC.

a hostel keeper and and the whole atmosphere were just horrible, it was the worst place were I've been during my two years journey.... I mean in that price you should get some sort of service. MY ADVICE DON'T GO THERE.... IT'S WORTH PAYING A FEW EXTRA BUCKS AND ENJOY YOU STAY SOME WHERE ELSE.

Staff was not welcoming much. Under construction but still accepting guests, which is inconsiderate, coz it was a major renovation.Customers were not inform that it was under construction, very impolite. The building looks old and neglected and hard to locate because it doesn't have proper business signage. Check in were moved from 1:00PM to 1:30PM wasted time, as if it was customers job to give time, then what is the vacation for? Didn't issue key for room which was in appropriate! Poor Service!

you pay for what you get. they are currently working on a new toilet area and there is building work going on. I ended up only staying for one day. I was not impressed with Singapore and left for Malaysia for 3 nights and it was amazing. Malaysia is very accessible and cheap to get to .

I always believed that hostel in Singapore is so clean, however, I was really frustrated when I came to the hostel. The bathroom is dirty and the atmosphere is not good. The price is just ok, not good with 16usd/ night.

Urban Hostel has a nice name and convenient location near the metro but the character of this hostel is that of a mill. Get them in, take their money, give them the bare minimum and get them out quickly so the next people can come in. The common area is little more than a couch in front of the reception desk which is a stressful place to hang out because the receptionist is a stressed individual. Even worse, their advertised offer of free tea & coffee is NOT TRUE. I was very disappointed.

I usually avoid writing reviews about the Hostels I have stayed in during my many 3 to 6 month travel in many countries of the world. I had read a past review about this hostel. It compels me to say that the comments made about the receptionist, most probably Valerie, were not fair. She is a very kind, honest person who wants to treat all guests fairly. When a guest is not disciplined or considerate, she tells him/or her so in order to fulfill her duty to other guests. The truth hurts.
